Now send word quickly to David and warn him,“ Don’t spend the night at the fords of the desert tonight. Instead, be sure you cross over, or else the king and everyone who is with him may be overwhelmed.”

他又說：「現在，你們要迅速派人去告訴大衛：今夜不要在曠野的渡口過夜，一定要過河，免得王和所有隨同他的人都被吞滅。」

宜急遣人告大衛曰、今夜勿宿曠野之津、必濟河、免王與侍從、俱見吞噬、

令其遣使、速告大闢、曰、今夕勿居於野之平原、必速濟河、恐王與侍從、俱見並吞。

今爾速遣人告大衛曰、今夕勿居曠野之平原、當速濟河、恐王與從者遘禍、遘禍或作俱被翦滅

Now send a message at once and tell David,‘ Do not spend the night at the fords in the wilderness; cross over without fail, or the king and all the people with him will be swallowed up.’”

Send a message right away. Tell David,‘ Don’t spend the night in the desert at a place where people cross the Jordan River. Make sure you go on across. If you don’t, you and all the people with you will be swallowed up.’ ”

Now therefore send quickly and tell David,‘ Do not stay tonight at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over, lest the king and all the people who are with him be swallowed up.’”

“ Quick!” he told them.“ Find David and urge him not to stay at the shallows of the Jordan River tonight. He must go across at once into the wilderness beyond. Otherwise he will die and his entire army with him.”

Now send someone quickly and tell David,‘ Don’t spend the night at the wilderness ford, but be sure to cross over the Jordan, or the king and all the people with him will be devoured.’”

Now then, send a messenger quickly and tell David, saying,‘ Do not spend the night at the river crossing places of the wilderness, but by all means cross over, or else the king and all the people who are with him will be destroyed.’ ”

Look, I will be waiting at the fords of the desert until word from you reaches me.”

For we groan while we are in this tent, since we are weighed down, because we do not want to be unclothed, but clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen,“ Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

Those who anticipate my defeat attack me all day long. Indeed, many are fighting against me, O Exalted One.

So David said to all his servants who were with him in Jerusalem,“ Come on! Let’s escape! Otherwise no one will be delivered from Absalom! Go immediately, or else he will quickly overtake us and bring disaster on us and kill the city’s residents with the sword.”

May he send help from heaven and deliver me from my enemies who hurl insults!( Selah) May God send his loyal love and faithfulness!

Jonathan called out to the servant,“ Hurry! Go faster! Don’t delay!” Jonathan’s servant retrieved the arrow and came back to his master.

I will hurry off to a place that is safe from the strong wind and the gale.”

Permit no sleep to your eyes or slumber to your eyelids.Deliver yourself like a gazelle from a snare, and like a bird from the trap of the fowler.

then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.The one on the roof must not come down to take anything out of his house,and the one in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.

I represent the peaceful and the faithful in Israel. You are attempting to destroy an important city in Israel. Why should you swallow up the LORD’s inheritance?”Joab answered,“ Get serious! I don’t want to swallow up or destroy anything!

Do not let them say to themselves,“ Aha! We have what we wanted!” Do not let them say,“ We have devoured him!”

After the men had left, Ahimaaz and Jonathan climbed out of the well. Then they left and informed King David. They advised David,“ Get up and cross the stream quickly, for Ahithophel has devised a plan to catch you.”So David and all the people who were with him got up and crossed the Jordan River. By dawn there was not one person left who had not crossed the Jordan.
