弟兄必把弟兄、父親必把兒女、送到死地；兒女必起來、跟父母為敵，害死他們。

亞希多弗又對押沙龍說：『請准我挑選一萬二千人、讓我今夜就起身去追趕大衛；趁他困倦手軟的時候，突然追上了他，使他驚惶狼狽；跟他走的眾民都會逃跑；我就單把王一人擊殺；將眾民領歸於你，如同新娘回到丈夫那裏一樣：你只尋索一人的性命，眾民就都平安無事了。』押沙龍和以色列眾長老都以這話為對。

他在他的神尼斯洛廟裏叩拜的時候，亞得米勒、他兒子、和沙利色、用刀弒殺了他，逃到亞拉臘地。他兒子以撒哈頓接替他作王。

因此我也索性給他們不好的律例，給他們不能使人活着的典章；

現在你們不要因為把我賣到這裏來自己憂傷、自己惱怒；因為是為了要保全人類的生命，上帝才差了我在你們以先來的。

王對神言人拿單說：『你看我，我住在香柏木的宮殿，而上帝的櫃反而住在幔子中間。』

神言人若被引誘說了一句話，是我永恆主讓那神言人被引誘的；我必伸手攻擊他，將他從我人民以色列中消滅掉。

永恆主就差遣了一個使者、在亞述王營中把一切有力氣英勇的人和將官及元帥、盡都抹除。亞述王滿面慚愧回他本地去。他進了他的神的廟，他親生的兒子在那裏用刀把他砍倒。

有禍呀，亞述，我怒氣的棍子！他是我忿怒之杖、在我手中。我打發他來攻擊不拜上帝之國，吩咐他來擊打我所惱怒的人民，來擄掠擄掠物，來掠劫掠劫物，使他們被踐踏、像街上的泥土一樣。但他呢、卻不這樣思想；他心裏並不這樣打算；他心裏倒想毁滅，剪除不少的國。
