Absalom said moreover,“ Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man who has any suit or cause might come to me, and I would do him justice!”

押沙龙又说：“恨不得我作国中的士师！凡有争讼求审判的到我这里来，我必秉公判断。”

押沙龙又说：“恨不得我作这地的审判官！凡有争讼的人可以到我这里来，我必秉公判断。”

押沙龙又说：“恨不得我作这地的审判官！凡有争讼的人可以到我这里来，我必秉公判断。”

他接着会说：“要是我被立为国中的审判官就好了！那样，任何人有申诉都可以来找我，我一定会为他主持公道。”

押沙龙又说：“但愿有人立我作这地的审判官，这样，有案件或诉讼的人，都可以到我这里来，我就给他公平的审判。”

押沙龍又說：「恨不得我作國中的士師！凡有爭訟求審判的到我這裏來，我必秉公判斷。」

他接著會說：「要是我被立為國中的審判官就好了！那樣，任何人有申訴都可以來找我，我一定會為他主持公道。」

押沙龍又說：“但願有人立我作這地的審判官，這樣，有案件或訴訟的人，都可以到我這裡來，我就給他公平的審判。”

押沙龍又說：『恨不得我在此地做審判官；凡有爭訟求判斷的人到我這裏來，我可秉公判斷。』

押沙龍又說：「但願有人立我作這地的審判官，這樣，任何一個有爭訟案件的人都可以到我這裡來，我必為他秉公辦理。」

又曰、我深願立為士師於斯土、凡有爭端訟事、咸詣我所、我必為之公斷、

又曰、我願為士師於斯土、凡有訟事、咸詣我所、我必代之剖析。

押沙龍又曰、我若如願、得為國中士師、凡為詞訟求判者至我前、我必以公義判斷、

And Absalom would add,“ If only I were appointed judge in the land! Then everyone who has a complaint or case could come to me and I would see that they receive justice.”

Absalom would continue,“ I wish I were appointed judge in the land! Then anyone who has a case or a claim could come to me. I would make sure they are treated fairly.”

Then Absalom would say,“ Oh that I were judge in the land! Then every man with a dispute or cause might come to me, and I would give him justice.”

I wish I were the judge. Then everyone could bring their cases to me for judgment, and I would give them justice!”

He added,“ If only someone would appoint me judge in the land. Then anyone who had a grievance or dispute could come to me, and I would make sure he received justice.”

Moreover, Absalom would say,“ Oh that someone would appoint me judge in the land, then every man who has a lawsuit or claim could come to me, and I would give him justice!”

Moreover Absalom would say,“ Oh, that I were made judge in the land, and everyone who has any suit or cause would come to me; then I would give him justice.”

Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man who hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!

He added,“ If only someone would appoint me judge in the land. Then anyone who had a grievance or dispute could come to me, and I would make sure he received justice.”

Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!

Absalom would then say,“ If only they would make me a judge in the land! Then everyone who had a judicial complaint could come to me and I would make sure he receives a just settlement.”

I wish that this people were under my hand! Then I would remove Abimelech.” He said to Abimelech,“ Increase your army and come out!”

Don’t exalt yourself in the presence of the king, or claim a place among great men;

promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for a man is brought into bondage by whoever overcomes him.

Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem to his mother’s brothers, and spoke with them and with all the family of the house of his mother’s father, saying,“ Please speak in the ears of all the men of Shechem,‘ Is it better for you that all the sons of Jerubbaal, who are seventy persons, rule over you, or that one rule over you?’ Remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.”His mother’s brothers spoke of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words. Their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said,“ He is our brother.”They gave him seventy pieces of silver out of the house of Baal Berith, with which Abimelech hired vain and reckless fellows who followed him.He went to his father’s house at Ophrah, and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, being seventy persons, on one stone; but Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself.

Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.

“ When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, don’t sit in the best seat, since perhaps someone more honorable than you might be invited by him,and he who invited both of you would come and tell you,‘ Make room for this person.’ Then you would begin, with shame, to take the lowest place.But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may tell you,‘ Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
