王对洗巴说：“你的这些东西是什么意思呢？”洗巴说：“驴是给王的家眷骑的，面饼和夏天的果饼是给年轻人吃的，酒是给在旷野疲乏的人喝的。”

你当确实知道，你何日出来过汲沦溪，就必定死！你的血必归到自己头上。”

耶稣说了这些话，就同门徒出去，过了汲沦溪。在那里有一个园子，他和门徒进去了。

这孩子渐渐长大，心灵坚强，住在旷野，直到他在以色列人面前公开出现的日子。

在那些日子，施洗的约翰出来，在犹太的旷野宣讲：

他甚至废了他祖母玛迦太后的位，因玛迦造了可憎的亚舍拉。亚撒砍下她的偶像，在汲沦溪边烧了，

要与喜乐的人同乐；要与哀哭的人同哭。

祭司进入耶和华的内殿要洁净殿，把耶和华殿中所发现一切污秽之物都搬出去，搬到耶和华殿的院子，由利未人接走，搬出去到外头的汲沦溪。

这人就是以赛亚先知所说的：“在旷野有声音呼喊着：预备主的道，修直他的路。”
