So David said to all his servants who were with him in Jerusalem,“ Come on! Let’s escape! Otherwise no one will be delivered from Absalom! Go immediately, or else he will quickly overtake us and bring disaster on us and kill the city’s residents with the sword.”

Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem,“ Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.”

Then David spoke to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem. He said,“ Come on! We have to leave right away! If we don’t, none of us will escape from Absalom. He’ll move quickly to catch up with us. He’ll destroy us. His men will kill everyone in the city with their swords.”

Then David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem,“ Arise, and let us flee, or else there will be no escape for us from Absalom. Go quickly, lest he overtake us quickly and bring down ruin on us and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”

“ Then we must flee at once, or it will be too late!” David urged his men.“ Hurry! If we get out of the city before Absalom arrives, both we and the city of Jerusalem will be spared from disaster.”

David said to all the servants with him in Jerusalem,“ Get up. We have to flee, or we will not escape from Absalom! Leave quickly, or he will overtake us quickly, heap disaster on us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”

So David said to all his servants who were with him in Jerusalem,“ Arise and let’s flee, for otherwise none of us will escape from Absalom. Go quickly, or he will hurry and overtake us, and bring disaster on us and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”

So David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem,“ Arise, and let us flee, or we shall not escape from Absalom. Make haste to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly and bring disaster upon us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”

And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for else none of us shall escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us quickly, and bring down evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.

All the people throughout all the tribes of Israel were arguing among themselves saying,“ The king delivered us from the hand of our enemies. He rescued us from the hand of the Philistines, but now he has fled from the land because of Absalom.

From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and forceful people lay hold of it.

The prince will not take away any of the people’s inheritance by oppressively removing them from their property. He will give his sons an inheritance from his own possessions so that my people will not be scattered, each from his own property.’”

because of what the enemy says, and because of how the wicked pressure me, for they hurl trouble down upon me and angrily attack me.My heart beats violently within me; the horrors of death overcome me.Fear and panic overpower me; terror overwhelms me.I say,“ I wish I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and settle in a safe place!Look, I will escape to a distant place; I will stay in the wilderness.( Selah)I will hurry off to a place that is safe from the strong wind and the gale.”Confuse them, O Lord! Frustrate their plans! For I see violence and conflict in the city.Day and night they walk around on its walls, while wickedness and destruction are within it.Disaster is within it; violence and deceit do not depart from its public square.

And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be thrown down to Hades!

This is what the LORD says:‘ I am about to bring disaster on you from inside your own household! Right before your eyes I will take your wives and hand them over to your companion. He will have sexual relations with your wives in broad daylight!

So the three elite warriors broke through the Philistine forces and drew some water from the cistern in Bethlehem near the gate. They carried it back to David, but he refused to drink it. He poured it out as a drink offering to the LORDand said,“ O LORD, I will not do this! It is equivalent to the blood of the men who risked their lives by going.” So he refused to drink it. Such were the exploits of the three elite warriors.

LORD, how numerous are my enemies! Many attack me.Many say about me,“ God will not deliver him.”( Selah)But you, LORD, are a shield that protects me; you are my glory and the one who restores me.To the LORD I cried out, and he answered me from his holy hill.( Selah)I rested and slept; I awoke, for the LORD protects me.I am not afraid of the multitude of people who attack me from all directions.Rise up, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Yes, you will strike all my enemies on the jaw; you will break the teeth of the wicked.The LORD delivers; you show favor to your people.( Selah)

If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand be crippled!May my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth, if I do not remember you, and do not give Jerusalem priority over whatever gives me the most joy.

Because you favor Zion, do what is good for her! Fortify the walls of Jerusalem!
