這其中、我們的年日是七十歲；若是強壯，可到八十歲；但其中所矜誇的、不過是勞苦愁煩迅速地過去，我們也飛沒了。

若不是懷着惡意殺人，而是上帝交在他手中，我就給你設下一個地方，他可以往那裏逃跑。

彼得就開口說：『我真地領會上帝不以貌取人；

『樹若被砍下，還可指望再萌芽，幼枝生長不息。就使其根衰老於地裏，其樹𣎴子死於塵土中，到一得了水氣，還是會發芽，長枝條，像新栽種的一樣。但人死了就過去；人一氣絕，究竟在哪裏呢？湖中的水絕盡，江河旱竭乾涸。人也這樣：他躺下去，就不能再起來；等到天都沒了、仍醒不過來，也不能從長眠中喚醒過來。

『他們若承認自己的罪愆、和他們祖宗的罪愆、就是他們的不忠實、對我不忠實、並且行事跟我作對。

王對使者說：『你告訴約押說：「你看了這事不要難受，因為刀劍吞滅這人或那人是沒有一定的；你只管加強戰力攻城，將城翻毁好啦；」你總要使約押的意志剛強。』

因為人類所遭遇的、獸類也遭遇着：他們都有一樣的遭遇：這個怎樣死，那個也怎樣死；二者都有一樣的氣息：人比獸並沒有甚麼長處；都是虛空。他們都向着一處走：都是出於塵土，也都回歸塵土。

便差遣他們的門徒同希律黨人來見耶穌，說：『先生，我們曉得你很真誠；你以真誠教授上帝的道路；甚麼人你都不在乎，因為你不看人的外貌。

你們既是呼求一位不以貌取人、乃按各人的行為施審判的父，就該存着敬畏的心、來度你們僑居世間的時光。
