押沙龍去見王說：“看哪！現在你的僕人雇了人剪羊毛；請王和王的臣僕與我一同去。”

押沙龙来到王那里，说：“看哪，有人正为你的仆人剪羊毛，请王和王的臣仆与你的仆人同去。”

他去见王，说：“我的工人正在剪羊毛，请王和众臣仆跟我一起去吧。”

乃覲王曰、有人為僕剪羊毛、請王及臣僕、與爾僕偕往、

覲王曰、臣僕僱人往剪羊毛、請王及群臣與我偕行。

押沙龍見王曰、有人為僕翦羊毛、請王與王之臣僕、同往筵宴、

Absalom went to the king and said,“ Your servant has had shearers come. Will the king and his attendants please join me?”

Absalom went to the king. He said,“ I’ve had my workers come to clip the wool. Will you and your attendants please join me?”

And Absalom came to the king and said,“ Behold, your servant has sheepshearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

He went to the king and said,“ My sheep shearers are now at work. Would the king and his servants please come to celebrate the occasion with me?”

Then he went to the king and said,“ Your servant has just hired sheepshearers. Will the king and his servants please come with your servant?”

And Absalom came to the king and said,“ Behold now, your servant has sheepshearers; may the king and his servants please go with your servant.”

Then Absalom came to the king and said,“ Kindly note, your servant has sheepshearers; please, let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheep- shearers; let the king, I pray thee, and his servants go with thy servant.

Then he went to the king and said,“ Your servant has just hired sheepshearers. Will the king and his servants please come with your servant?”

And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheepshearers; let the king, I beseech thee, and his servants go with thy servant.

Then Absalom went to the king and said,“ My shearers have begun their work. Let the king and his servants go with me.”

Absalom came to the king, and said,“ See now, your servant has sheep shearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

他的口比奶油光滑，他的心卻懷著爭戰的意圖；他的話比油還柔和，其實卻是拔了出來的刀。

他們彼此說謊，用諂媚的嘴唇說話，口是心非。

大衛對烏利亞說：“你回家去，洗洗腳吧！”烏利亞就離開了王宮。隨後王的一份禮物也跟著送去。烏利亞卻和他主人的臣僕一同睡在王宮門外，沒有回到自己家裡去。有人告訴大衛說：“烏利亞沒有下到自己家裡去。”大衛就問烏利亞：“你不是從遠路回來嗎？為甚麼不下到自己家裡去呢？”烏利亞回答大衛說：“約櫃、以色列人和猶大人都住在棚裡，我主人約押和我主人的臣僕都在野地安營，我怎能回家吃喝，與妻子同睡呢？我指著王和王的生命發誓：我絕不敢作這樣的事。”大衛對烏利亞說：“你今天還留在這裡，明天我才打發你去。”那一天，烏利亞就留在耶路撒冷。次日，大衛召了烏利亞來，叫烏利亞與他一起吃喝，使他喝醉。到了晚上，烏利亞出去，與他主人的臣僕一同睡在自己的床鋪上，還是沒有下到自己家裡去。到了早晨，大衛寫了一封給約押的信，交烏利亞親手帶去。他在信裡寫著說：“要把烏利亞派到戰鬥最猛烈的前線去，然後你們就退到他後邊，讓他被擊殺。”

尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利從米斯巴出來迎接他們，邊走邊哭，遇見了他們，就對他們說：“請你們來見亞希甘的兒子基大利！”他們到了城中，尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利和與他一起的人，就把他們殺了，扔在坑裡。
