約伯便起來，撕裂外袍，剪了頭髮，伏在地上敬拜，

你要洗澡抹油，換上衣服，下到禾場上，卻不要讓那人認出你來，直等到他喫喝完了才可以。

但是你禁食的時候、要用油抹頭，要洗臉，

眾人將永恆主的櫃抬進去，安置在它的地方、在帳棚中間大衛所搭的。大衛便在永恆主面前獻上燔祭和平安祭。

活人為甚麼哀怨？人為甚麼因受的罪罰而發怨言呢？我們來檢討考查行徑，回歸永恆主吧。我們來獻心舉手向天上的上帝禱告吧：

我緘默不開口，因為是你作了的。

約伯卻對她說：『你說話就像個不虔不義的傻人在說話一樣。我們由上帝而接受福氣，難道就不接受災禍？』在這一切事上、約伯並沒有以口舌而犯了罪。

你的衣服要時常潔白；你頭上也不要缺少膏油。

於是大衛王進去，恭坐在永恆主面前，說：『我主永恆主啊，我是誰，我的家算甚麼，你竟帶領了我到這地步？
