When the Ammonites saw that they had become a stench to David, the Ammonites sent and hired the Syrians of Beth-rehob, and the Syrians of Zobah, 20,000 foot soldiers, and the king of Maacah with 1,000 men, and the men of Tob, 12,000 men.

瑣巴王利合的兒子哈大底謝，往幼發拉底河去要奪回他統治這河的勢力的時候，大衛就攻打他。

大馬士革的亞蘭人來協助瑣巴王哈大底謝，大衛就擊殺了亞蘭人二萬二千。

雅各對西緬和利未說：“你們連累了我，使我在這地的居民，就是在迦南人和比利洗人中間，成了可憎的人。我們人數不多，如果他們聯合起來對付我，攻擊我，我和我的家就必滅絕了。”

就對他們說：“願耶和華鑒察你們，審判你們，因為你們使我們的香氣在法老眼前和他的臣僕眼前都發臭了，把刀放在他們的手裡來殺我們。”

列國之民啊！你們儘管作惡，但你們終必毀滅！所有在遠處的人民啊，要留心聽！你們儘管束腰吧，你們終必毀滅！你們儘管束腰吧，你們終必毀滅！你們儘管計劃陰謀吧，這些終必失敗；你們儘管提議吧，這些終必不能成立，因為神與我們同在。

就是從以東、摩押、亞捫人、非利士人、亞瑪力人所得來的，以及從瑣巴王利合的兒子哈大底謝獲得的戰利品。

以色列眾人聽說掃羅攻打了非利士人的駐軍，又聽說非利士人憎恨以色列人，就應召在吉甲跟隨掃羅。

亞捫人看見自己與大衛結了仇恨，哈嫩和亞捫人就派人用三萬公斤銀子，從米所波大米、亞蘭瑪迦和瑣巴去雇戰車和馬兵。他們雇了三萬二千輛戰車，以及瑪迦王和他的軍隊；他們都來在米底巴前面安營。亞捫人也從他們的各城聚集起來，出來作戰。

瑪拿西的兒子睚珥，佔了亞珥歌全境，直到基述人和瑪迦人的邊界，就按著自己的名字稱巴珊全境為哈倭特．睚珥，直到今日。
