有一个便雅悯人跑离战场，衣服撕裂，头蒙尘土，当天来到示罗。

从前有人向我报信说：‘看哪！扫罗死了。’他自以为是报好消息，我却抓住他，把他杀在洗革拉，这就是我给他作报好消息的酬报。

亚比该见了大卫，就急忙从驴背下来，俯伏在大卫面前，脸伏于地，向他叩拜。

约书亚就撕裂自己的衣服，和以色列人的长老，在耶和华的约柜前，一同俯伏在地，直到晚上，也把尘土撒在头上。

大卫到了山顶，就是人敬拜神的地方。看哪！有亚基人户筛衣服撕裂，头蒙灰尘，在那里迎接他。

看哪！从撒但的一党，就是自称是犹太人，其实不是犹太人，而是说谎的人中，我要使他们一些人来在你脚前下拜，并且知道我已经爱了你。

提哥亚妇人进去见王，俯伏在地，叩拜他，说：“王啊！求你帮助我。”

流本回到枯井那里，见约瑟不在井里，就撕裂自己的衣服。

从那时起，耶稣开始向门徒指出，他必须往耶路撒冷去，受长老、祭司长和经学家许多的苦害，并且被杀，第三天复活。

他们回答：“你仆人我们的父亲平安，他还在。”于是他们低头下拜。
