if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

所多瑪俄摩拉並四周之邑、亦似彼眾行淫、從逆理之慾、遂受火焚之永刑、以為烱戒、

又如羅得時、人皆飲食、貿易、栽種、建造、迨羅得出所多瑪之日、自天雨火與硫盡滅其眾、人子顯日亦如是、

彼時地啟口吞之、與可拉及其黨偕亡、二百五十一人為火所燬、垂戒於後、

硫磺與鹽、鹽或作硝焚燬徧地、不得耕種、不產物、不生草、如所多瑪、俄摩拉、押瑪、洗扁、主震怒時所傾覆者、

主雨硫磺與火於所多瑪俄摩拉、乃主自天降之、或作主於所多瑪及俄摩拉由主前自天降硫磺與火以城邑平原居民、及地所產之物、盡滅之、

彼等遇此諸事、皆可以為鑒、且書之於經、以警我儕末世之人、

主曰、昔所多瑪、俄摩拉、及其鄰邑、為我天主所傾覆、巴比倫亦必若是、無人居於彼、無人旅於彼、

向所多瑪俄摩拉與平原一境觀望、見其地煙焰上騰、如窰之煙然、

我於爾地傾覆城邑、與昔傾覆所多瑪、俄摩拉無異、使爾如片柴、拔於火中、爾猶不歸誠於我、此乃主所言、

萬有之主以色列之天主曰、我指己永生而誓、摩押必若所多瑪、亞捫族必若俄摩拉、蒺藜叢生、斥鹵遍地、蒺藜叢生斥鹵遍地或作必成長蒺藜有鹽坑之地必恆荒蕪、我之遺民、必掠其貨財、得其地業、我之遺民必掠其貨財得其地業或作我子民之餘者必掠其貨財我百姓之餘者必得其地業

素於萬邦中最為宏麗、迦勒底人所恃為己榮、且因驕傲之巴比倫、必見傾覆、如天主傾覆所多瑪俄摩拉然、

以法蓮乎、我奚能舍爾、以色列乎、我奚能付爾於敵、奚能使爾如押瑪、奚能使爾如洗扁、我已回志、慈心孔發、

爾妹所多瑪及其眾女、不缺飲食、安享平康、則生驕傲、不援貧乏之手、此即其罪也、彼狂傲、行可惡之事於我前、我見此、則去之、撒瑪利亞所犯之罪、未及爾罪之半、爾行可憎之事、較彼尤多、以爾所行諸可憎之事、使爾姊妹、顯為猶善、爾擬姊妹當受羞辱、今爾必自受、爾所犯之罪、較彼尤為可憎、則彼較爾顯為善、爾既使姊妹較爾顯為善、則爾必蒙羞抱愧、日後我將返其俘囚、即所多瑪及其眾女之俘囚、撒瑪利亞及其眾女之俘囚、亦使爾之俘囚旋返其中、或作日後我將使之復振興即使所多瑪及其眾女復振興使撒瑪利亞及其眾女復振興亦使爾復振興於其中爾必自覺羞辱、必因凡所行者愧怍不勝、因爾使彼自慰自藉、爾妹所多瑪及其眾女、必復舊如初、撒瑪利亞及其眾女、必復舊如初、爾及爾眾女、亦必復舊如初、爾驕傲之日、口未提爾妹所多瑪以為警、

審判眾人、責諸不虔之罪人、為其所作不虔之事、亦為其謗言讟主、
