他们许诺给这些人自由，自己却是衰朽的奴隶。要知道，一个人被什么制伏，就成为什么的奴隶。

許之以自由、而己則為邪慝之奴、蓋為其所勝者、即為其奴也、

勝我者、吾為之奴、偽師從惡、則亦為惡之奴、反以自由許弟子、

以自由許人、而己為罪惡之奴、蓋勝人者、人即為其奴也、

以自由為號召、而自身則為腐敗之奴隸。蓋為邪惡所克者、即成邪惡之奴矣。

They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity— for“ people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”

They promise to give freedom to these new believers. But they themselves are slaves to sinful living. That’s because“ people are slaves to anything that controls them.”

耶稣回答：“我确确实实地告诉你们：所有犯罪的，就是罪的奴隶。

你们难道不知道吗？你们把自己献上做奴仆去顺从谁，那么，顺从谁就是谁的奴仆：或做罪的奴仆，以至于死；或做顺从的奴仆，以致称义。感谢神！虽然你们过去是罪的奴仆，但现在却从心里顺从了所传给你们的教导内容，从罪中得了释放，成为义的奴仆。因着你们肉体的软弱，我就按照人的说法来讲，那就是，你们从前怎样把身体的各部分献给污秽和罪恶做奴仆，以致罪恶；现在也要照样把你们身体的各部分献给义做奴仆，以致分别为圣。原来，你们做罪的奴仆时，不受义的管束；那么，在你们现在看为羞耻的那些事上，你们当时到底得了什么果子呢？那些事的结局就是死。但如今，你们既从罪中得了释放，成为神的奴仆，就得了果子，以致分别为圣，那结局就是永恒的生命。

弟兄们，你们蒙召是为了得自由，只是不可用这自由给肉体一个机会，而是要藉着爱彼此服事，

做为自由人，你们不可拿自由当做恶事的借口，却要做神的奴仆。

基督释放了我们，使我们得自由。所以你们当站立得稳，不要再被奴役的轭所束缚。

其实，我们从前也是无知、悖逆、被迷惑的，做各种欲望和享乐的奴仆，活在恶毒和嫉妒中，是可憎恶的，又彼此相恨。

祸哉！以法莲酒徒的高傲冠冕——荣耀华美的将残之花！它就在醉酒人肥沃之谷的山顶上。

所以，不要让罪在你们会死的身体上掌权，使你们顺从身体的私欲；也不要把你们身体的任何部分献给罪，做不义的器具；相反，要像从死人中复活的人，把自己献给神，并把身体的各部分做义的器具献给神。这样，罪就不能辖制你们了，因为你们不在律法之下，而在恩典之下。

这样，那些被魔鬼掳去、随从魔鬼意思的人，就能醒悟过来，脱离魔鬼的网罗。

原来，他们如果藉着认识我们的主、救主耶稣基督而逃脱这世界的污秽，却又被这些污秽纠缠、制伏了，那么，他们最后的情况就比先前更坏了；
