許我尊榮景福、不為斯世惡俗所囿、於上帝之性情、是則是傚、

又以己之榮與德、許我以至大至寶之恩、使我儕我儕原文作爾曹賴此得脫斯世由慾而生之敗壞、得與天主同性、

賴斯大榮大德、吾人復受有無上無疆之恩諾、俾吾人脫世俗縱情恣慾之腐敗惡習、得躋於神化之境、而融於天主之性。

心志亦宜更新、且衣以新人、乃肖上帝、由真理之聖與義而造者也、○

以清水灑爾、使爾為潔、滌爾諸污、除爾所有之偶像、以新心賜爾、以新神賦於爾衷、去爾石心、錫以肉心、以我神賦於爾衷、使爾循我典章、守我律例、而遵行之、

彼乃暫依己意而懲、惟此則為我之益、使我與其聖也、

我儕去帕於面、如於鑑反照主榮、皆化為主像、自榮致榮、如出乎主、即聖神也、

而衣新人、日新以致知、依造之者之像、

故曰、爾宜出厥中而自別、勿捫不潔、我則納爾、我將為爾父、爾為我子、此全能之主所言也、愛友乎、我儕既有此諸許、當潔己、盡去身心之污、畏上帝而成聖、○

蓋其言矜誇虛誕、由形軀之慾、以淫邪誘惑甫脫妄行者、許之以自由、而己則為邪慝之奴、蓋為其所勝者、即為其奴也、人既因識主救者耶穌基督、得脫世污、若復為其所累所勝、則後患尤劇於前、

播於形軀者、將由形軀而穫敗壞、播於聖神者、將由聖神而穫永生、

凡受之者、即信其名者、則賜之權、為上帝子、其生也、非由血氣、非由情欲、非由人意、乃由上帝也、

今耶穌得更美之執事、以其為中保於愈善之約、乃於愈善之許而立者、倘前約無缺、則無庸立後約矣、惟視其有缺、則曰、主云、日將至矣、我與以色列家、及猶大家必立新約、非依我與其先祖所立之約、即在援其手導之出埃及時者、主云、彼不恆守我約、故我弗眷顧之、又云、斯日之後我與以色列家所立之約、乃以我律置其衷銘其心、我於彼為上帝、彼於我為民、勿須各訓其鄰里及其兄弟云、宜識主、蓋自卑至尊、皆必識我、以我將寬恕其不義、不復記其罪愆、

是以彼為新約之中保、以死而贖前約下之罪愆、俾蒙召者得永業之許、

耶穌基督之僕使徒西門彼得、書達與我儕同獲此寶信、在我上帝、我救者、耶穌基督之義也、

俾不再循人慾、惟循上帝之旨、以度餘年、爾往時從異邦人之欲、而行邪侈、縱恣、沉湎、荒宴、盤樂、及違理拜像之事亦足矣、

爾中之戰鬥爭競、奚自哉、非自戰於爾百體中之慾乎、爾欲而不得、爾殺爾嫉而不能得、戰鬥也、爭競也、爾之無所得者、以爾不求也、爾求而不得、以爾妄求、欲用之於爾慾也、

蓋上帝所許者、在彼皆是、故亦皆誠、俾上帝由我儕而得榮、

夫所許者、乃指亞伯拉罕及其裔而言、不曰諸裔、如指多人、惟指一人、且曰爾裔、即基督也、

彼固以色列人、得為上帝子、有榮耀、諸約、律例、禮儀、應許、
