約蘭曰、駕、遂備車、以色列王約蘭、猶大王亞哈謝、各乘其車、往迎耶戶、遇於耶斯列人拿伯之田、約蘭見耶戶、則曰、耶戶歟、安否、曰、爾母耶洗別、淫行巫術若是之多、焉得安乎、約蘭旋轅而遁、謂亞哈謝曰、亞哈謝歟、是叛也、耶戶極力彎弓、射中約蘭兩臂之間、矢穿其心而出、遂仆於車、耶戶謂其軍長畢甲曰、取而投於耶斯列人拿伯之田、爾其追思、爾我同乘、隨其父亞哈時、耶和華預言之、曰、昨日我見拿伯及其諸子之血、必於是田報之、今投之於此田、循耶和華所言、猶大王亞哈謝見此、遂由園亭之道而遁、耶戶追之、曰、擊之於車中、至近以伯蓮之姑珥阪、擊之、乃遁至米吉多而死、

亞他利雅聞衛士與民之聲、則入耶和華室、至於民所、望見王循常例立於柱側、百夫長與吹角者侍於王側、四境之民懽忻吹角、亞他利雅裂衣、呼曰、叛矣、叛矣、祭司耶何耶大命統軍之百夫長曰、由隊伍之間擁之出、隨其後者、必殺以刃、蓋祭司曰、勿殺之於耶和華室、遂辟易而出之、婦由馬道至王宮、見殺於彼、○
