for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another,“ Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!”

The Lord had caused the soldiers of Aram to hear a noise. It sounded like chariots and horses and a huge army. So the soldiers said to one another,“ Listen! The king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings. He has paid them to attack us!”

For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians hear the sound of chariots and of horses, the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another,“ Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Egypt to come against us.”

禍哉！那些下埃及求幫助的，他們仰賴馬匹，倚靠甚多的戰車，並倚靠強壯的騎兵，卻不仰望以色列的聖者，也不求問耶和華。

他們在那裏大大害怕，因為上帝在義人的族類中。

若不然，怎能使我主臣僕中最小的一個軍官轉臉而逃呢？你難道要倚靠埃及的戰車和騎兵嗎？

羅波安王第五年，埃及王示撒上來攻打耶路撒冷，因為他們背叛了耶和華。示撒帶着一千二百輛戰車，六萬名騎兵，以及跟隨他從埃及出來的路比人、蘇基人和古實人的軍隊，多得不可勝數。

基路伯翅膀的響聲傳到外院，好像全能上帝說話的聲音。

看哪，我必驚動他的心，他要聽見風聲就歸回本地，在那裏我必使他倒在刀下。』」

牠們胸前有甲，好像鐵甲；又有翅膀的響聲，好像許多車馬奔跑上陣的聲音。

次日，巴施戶珥開枷釋放耶利米。於是耶利米對他說：「耶和華不叫你的名為巴施戶珥，而叫你瑪歌珥‧米撒畢，因耶和華如此說：『看哪，我要使你和你的眾朋友驚嚇；你們要親眼看見他們倒在仇敵的刀下。我必將猶大人全都交在巴比倫王的手中，他要把他們擄到巴比倫去，用刀殺他們。

摩押人清早起來，日光照在水上，他們看見對面水紅如血，就說：「這是血啊！必是三王互相擊殺，全都滅亡了。摩押人哪，我們現在去搶奪財物吧！」摩押人到了以色列營，以色列人起來攻打他們，他們就在以色列人面前逃跑。以色列人追殺摩押人，直殺入摩押境內。他們拆毀摩押的城鎮，各人拋石頭填滿一切良田，塞住一切水泉，砍伐各種好樹，只剩下吉珥‧哈列設的石牆，但甩石的兵仍然包圍攻打那城。摩押王見戰事激烈，對他不利，就率領七百個拿刀的兵，想突圍逃到以東王那裏，卻沒有成功。於是他在城牆上，把那應當接續他作王的長子獻為燔祭。有極大的憤怒臨到以色列，於是三王離開摩押王，各自回本地去了。

地上的君王、臣宰、將軍、富戶、壯士，和一切為奴的、自主的，都藏在山洞和巖石穴裏，向山和巖石說：「倒在我們身上吧！把我們藏起來，躲避坐寶座者的臉面和羔羊的憤怒；
