for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another,“ Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!”

The Lord had caused the soldiers of Aram to hear a noise. It sounded like chariots and horses and a huge army. So the soldiers said to one another,“ Listen! The king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings. He has paid them to attack us!”

For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians hear the sound of chariots and of horses, the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another,“ Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Egypt to come against us.”

你們即使依靠埃及的戰車和騎兵，又怎能打敗我主人的一個最小的將領呢？

羅波安王執政第五年，埃及王示撒上來攻打耶路撒冷，因為猶大君民對耶和華不忠。示撒率領一千二百輛戰車、六萬騎兵及無數的路比人、蘇基人和古實人。

基路伯天使展翅的響聲好像全能上帝說話的聲音，在外院也可以聽見。

第二天早晨，日光照在水面上，摩押人起來後，看見對面的水像血一樣紅，便說：「那是血啊！一定是三王內訌，自相殘殺。弟兄們，我們去搶財物吧！」他們到了以色列營，以色列人奮起迎戰，殺得他們轉身逃跑。以色列人乘勝追擊，殺入摩押境內，擊殺摩押人，摧毀城邑，人人拋擲石頭填滿所有良田，堵塞一切水泉，砍倒各種佳美樹木。摩押境內僅剩的吉珥·哈列設城也遭到甩石的士兵圍攻。摩押王見戰事不利，就率領七百名刀兵，企圖從以東王那邊突圍，但沒有成功。於是，他在城上將本應繼承自己王位的長子殺掉，獻為燔祭。以色列人感到非常恐懼，便退兵回國了。

地上的君王、顯貴、將領、富豪、有勢力的、一切奴隸和自由人都躲藏在山洞裡和岩穴間。他們哀求群山和岩石，說：「倒下來遮蓋我們，將我們藏起來吧！我們不敢面對寶座上的那位和羔羊的烈怒啊！
