回答说：“不可击杀他们！就是你用刀用弓掳来的，岂可击杀他们吗？当在他们面前设摆饮食，使他们吃喝回到他们的主人那里。”

他说：“不可击杀！这些人岂是你用刀用弓掳来给你击杀的呢？当在他们面前摆设饮食给他们吃喝，让他们回到他们主人那里。”

以利沙答道：“不可杀他们。岂可杀从战场上抓来的俘虏呢？给他们吃的喝的，让他们回自己主人那里吧。”

以利沙说：“你不可击杀他们。你可以击杀你自己用刀用弓掳回来的人吗？你要在他们面前摆上食物和水，给他们吃喝，然后回到他们的主人那里去。”

以利沙答道：「不可殺他們。豈可殺從戰場上抓來的俘虜呢？給他們吃的喝的，讓他們回自己主人那裡吧。」

曰不可、即使以刃以弓虜之而至、亦不可擊、當供以餅、給以水、使其飲食、而歸其王。

“ Do not kill them,” he answered.“ Would you kill those you have captured with your own sword or bow? Set food and water before them so that they may eat and drink and then go back to their master.”

He answered,“ You shall not strike them down. Would you strike down those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? Set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master.”

“ Of course not!” Elisha replied.“ Do we kill prisoners of war? Give them food and drink and send them home again to their master.”

Elisha replied,“ Don’t kill them. Do you kill those you have captured with your sword or your bow? Set food and water in front of them so they can eat and drink and go to their master.”

But he answered,“ You shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set bread and water before them, so that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.”

從前我用刀用弓從亞摩利人手下奪取的那一份，我要把它賜給你，使你比你的兄弟多得一份。」

不但如此，「你的仇敵若餓了，就給他吃；若渴了，就給他喝。因為你這樣做，就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。」不要被惡所勝，反要以善勝惡。

當那日，我必為我的百姓，與野地的走獸、天空的飛鳥和地上爬行的動物立約；又要在國中折斷弓和刀，止息戰爭，使他們安然躺臥。

但是我告訴你們：要愛你們的仇敵，為那迫害你們的禱告。

你的仇敵若餓了，就給他飯吃，若渴了，就給他水喝；因為你這樣做，就是把炭火堆在他的頭上，耶和華必回報你。

因為我必不倚靠我的弓，我的刀也不能使我得勝。

我卻要憐憫猶大家，使他們靠耶和華－他們的神得救；我必不讓他們靠弓、刀、戰爭、馬匹與騎兵得救。」

我派遣瘟疫在你們前面，將亞摩利人的兩個王從你們面前趕出，並不是用你的刀，也不是用你的弓。

以色列人擄了他們的弟兄，連婦人帶兒女共二十萬，又掠取了許多財物，把這些掠物帶到撒瑪利亞去。但那裏有耶和華的一個先知，名叫俄德，出來迎接往撒瑪利亞去的軍兵，對他們說：「看哪，耶和華－你們列祖的神惱怒猶大人，將他們交在你們手裏，你們竟怒氣沖天，向他們大行殺戮。如今你們又有意強逼猶大人和耶路撒冷人作你們的奴婢，你們豈不是也得罪了耶和華－你們的神嗎？現在你們當聽我說，要將從你們弟兄中擄來的釋放回去，因耶和華的烈怒已臨到你們了。」於是，以法蓮人的幾個領袖，就是約哈難的兒子亞撒利雅、米實利末的兒子比利家、沙龍的兒子耶希西家、哈得萊的兒子亞瑪撒，起來攔阻從戰場上回來的人，對他們說：「你們不可把這些被擄的人帶到這裏，因我們已經得罪耶和華了。你們還想加增我們的罪惡過犯嗎？因為我們的罪過深重，已經有烈怒臨到以色列了。」於是帶兵器的人將擄來的人口和掠取的財物都留在眾領袖和全會眾面前。以上提名的那些人就起來，照顧被擄的人；其中凡赤身的，就從所掠取的財物中拿出衣服和鞋來，給他們穿，又給他們吃喝，用膏抹他們；其中凡軟弱的，就使他們騎驢，送到棕樹城耶利哥他們弟兄那裏。然後，他們就回撒瑪利亞去了。

那城若願意以和平回應，給你開城，城裏所有的人就要為你做苦工，服事你。若那城拒絕和平，卻要與你打仗，你就要圍困那城。耶和華－你的神把那城交在你手裏時，你就要用刀殺盡城裏的男丁。至於婦女、孩童、牲畜和城裏所有的，你都可以取為自己的掠物。從仇敵所掠奪的，就是耶和華－你神所賜給你的，你都可以享用。離你很遠的各城，就是不屬於這些國家的城鎮，你都要這樣對待他們。但是這些民族的城鎮，就是耶和華－你神所賜給你的產業，其中凡有氣息的，一個都不可存留。
