他的一位臣仆说：“我主我王啊！不是的；只不过是以色列的以利沙先知，把你在你卧室内所说的话，告知了以色列王。”

臣僕中有一個人說：『我主我王，沒有的事，只有以色列中的神言人以利沙、他將王在臥房中所說的話告訴以色列王罷了。』

一臣曰、我主我王歟、非也、乃以色列之先知以利沙、以王在寢室所言者、告以色列王、

一臣曰、我主我王、無人助之、乃以色列族之先知、以利沙以王在寢室所言之事、悉告其主。

“ None of us, my lord the king,” said one of his officers,“ but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.”

“ You are my king and master,” said one of his officers.“ None of us is on Israel’s side. But Elisha is a prophet in Israel. He tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in your own bedroom.”

And one of his servants said,“ None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

“ It’s not us, my lord the king,” one of the officers replied.“ Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in the privacy of your bedroom!”

One of his servants said,“ No one, my lord the king. Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in your bedroom.”

One of his servants said,“ No, my lord, the king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

And one of his servants said,“ None, my Lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

And one of his servants said, Nay, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.

One of his servants said,“ No one, my lord the king. Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in your bedroom.”

And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that[ is] in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.

One of his advisers said,“ No, my master, O king. The prophet Elisha who lives in Israel keeps telling the king of Israel the things you say in your bedroom.”

One of his servants said,“ No, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

然而天上有一位神，就是顯明奧祕的那一位，他已經使尼布甲尼撒王明白了末後的日子將要發生的事——這就是你在床上所做的夢和腦海中的異象。王啊，你在床上所懷的意念是此後將要發生的事，而顯明奧祕的那一位已經使你明白了將要發生的事！至於那奧祕的事顯明給我，不是因為我比所有的活人更有智慧，而是要使王明白那夢的釋義和王心裡的意念。

「術士的領袖伯提沙撒啊，我知道你裡面有聖潔之神的靈，任何奧祕都難不倒你！你就講說我所看到的夢中異象和夢的釋義吧！我在床上時，我腦海中的異象是這樣的：我正在觀看，看哪，在大地中間有一棵樹，極其高大！這樹繼續長大，變得茁壯，高達於天，全地極都能看到；它的葉子美麗，果實繁多，足以給眾生作食物；田野的走獸在它之下得蔭庇，天空的飛鳥在它的枝子上住宿，一切有血肉的都從它得供養。「我在床上時，我在腦海中的異象裡繼續觀看，看哪，有一位守望者，就是一位聖者，從天上降下！他大聲高呼，這樣說：『你們當砍倒這樹，砍掉它的枝子，打落它的葉子，拋散它的果實；使走獸從樹下逃離，使飛鳥從樹枝逃離！然而你們當把帶根的樹樁留在地裡，在田野的青草中用鐵圈和銅圈套住——讓他被天上的露水濕透，在地上的牧草中與走獸一同有份；讓他的心從人的心改變，並給他一個獸的心，讓七個時期從他流過。這是守望者們所宣告的裁決，是聖者們所宣布的決定，為要使活人明白：至高者在人的國中掌權，他願意把國賜給誰就賜給誰，甚至把最卑微的人立在一國之上。』「以上就是我尼布甲尼撒王所做的夢。伯提沙撒啊，你講說夢的釋義吧！因為我國中的所有智慧人都不能把夢的釋義顯明給我；只有你能，因為你裡面有聖潔之神的靈。」

你不可詛咒君王，就是在意念中也不可；你不可詛咒財主，就是在臥室裡也不可；因為天空的飛鳥會揚其聲，有翅膀的會傳其言。

禍哉！那些向耶和華深深隱瞞計劃的人！他們所做的都在黑暗之中，他們說：「誰會看見我們呢？誰會知道我們呢？」

王開口對但以理說：「你既然能顯明這奧祕，那麼你們的神真是萬神之神、萬王之主，是顯明奧祕的那一位！」

是他顯明深奧和隱祕的事；他知道黑暗中有什麼，光明也與他同在。我祖先的神哪，我感謝、稱讚你！因為你賜給我智慧和大能；我們向你祈求的，如今你已顯明給我，又把王的事顯明給了我們。」

耶和華啊，你已經洞察我，認識我！我坐下、我起來，你都知道；你從遠方就知道我的意念。我行路、我躺臥，你都細察；你熟悉我的一切道路。耶和華啊，我舌頭上的話還沒有說，看哪，你已經完全知道了！
