主如是云、摩押人犯罪、至三至四、更以以東王之骸骨、焚燒成灰、故我降罰以報之、必不挽回、

屠戮子女、祭祀鬼魔、殺害無辜之兒女、祀迦南之偶像、因而斯地被血污穢、

掃羅曰、不如乘夜追非利士人、掠其所有、擊之至於黎明、不留其一人、民曰、爾以為當如何行則行之、祭司曰、當在此至天主前、掃羅問於天主曰、我追非利士人可否、主付之於以色列人手否、是日天主不垂告、掃羅曰、惟爾民長、咸當來此、究察今日之罪因何故、或作今日誰干罪戾我指救以色列人永生之主而誓、犯罪者雖我子約拿單亦必死亡、民中無有應之者、掃羅謂以色列人曰、爾眾在彼、我與我子約拿單在此、民謂掃羅曰、爾以為當如何行則行之、掃羅禱以色列天主人曰之、求主指示其實、於是掣籤、得掃羅與約拿單、民皆無與、掃羅曰、我與我子約拿單間、可再掣籤、乃得約拿單、掃羅謂約拿單曰、爾何所為、明以告我、約拿單告之曰、我手執杖、以杖頭濡蜜少許而嘗之、我在此、如當死則死矣、掃羅曰、約拿單、必致爾於死、原文作爾必死若不然、願天主從重罰我、民謂掃羅曰、約拿單使以色列人獲如是之大勝、豈可致之死歟、斷乎不可、我儕指永生主而誓、其首之一髮、必不隕於地、其今日所行、乃蒙天主祐也、於是民救救原文作贖約拿單免於死亡、掃羅不復追非利士人而歸、非利士人亦歸故土、○

以色列王憂鬱不樂、歸撒瑪利亞而入其宮、

曰、可攜爾所愛獨子以撒、往摩利亞地、我將示爾一山、在彼獻之為火焚祭、

兩月既滿、女歸父家、父循所許之願行於女、女童身未與男近、此後以色列人有常例、

有先知至以色列王亞哈前、曰、主如是云、此大軍旅、爾見之乎、今日我必付於爾手、使爾知我乃主、

亞伯拉罕舉目見在彼有牡綿羊、角繫林叢、亞伯拉罕遂往執羊、獻為火焚祭、以代其子、

有神人進前、告以色列王曰、主如是云、亞蘭人言我乃山岳之神、非平原之神、故我必以此大軍旅付於爾手、使爾知我乃主、
