On the seventh day of the fifth month, in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard, an official of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

Nebuzaradan was an official of the king of Babylon. In fact, he was commander of the royal guard. He came to Jerusalem. It was in the 19th year that Nebuchadnezzar was king of Babylon. It was on the seventh day of the fifth month.

In the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month— that was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon— Nebuzaradan, the captain of the bodyguard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

On August 14 of that year, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard and an official of the Babylonian king, arrived in Jerusalem.

巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒執政第十九年五月十日，他的臣僕——護衛長尼布撒拉旦進入耶路撒冷，放火焚燒耶和華的殿、王宮及城內所有的房屋。他燒毀了所有重要建築。他率領的迦勒底的軍隊拆毀了耶路撒冷四圍的城牆。護衛長尼布撒拉旦擄去最貧窮的人、城中的餘民、投降的人和剩下的技工，只留下一些最貧窮的人，讓他們照料葡萄園、耕種田地。

世上的君王和居民都不相信敵人能闖進耶路撒冷的城門。

迦勒底人放火焚燒王宮和民居，拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆。護衛長尼布撒拉旦把城中的餘民以及投降的人都擄到巴比倫，卻讓那些一貧如洗的窮人留在猶大，將葡萄園和田地分給他們。至於耶利米，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒吩咐護衛長尼布撒拉旦：「你好好照顧耶利米，切不可傷害他。他有什麼要求，你都要滿足。」於是，護衛長尼布撒拉旦、尼布沙斯班、尼甲·沙利薛等巴比倫王的所有將領，便派人把耶利米從護衛兵的院子提出來，讓沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利帶他回家。從此，耶利米就生活在百姓當中。

巴比倫王以未·米羅達在他執政的元年十二月二十七日，即猶大王約雅斤被擄後第三十七年，施恩釋放了約雅斤，

「萬軍之耶和華說，『四月、五月、七月、十月的禁食必成為猶大家歡喜快樂的日子和幸福的節期。因此，你們要喜愛真理與和平。

猶大王約雅斤及其母親、臣僕和文官武將向尼布甲尼撒投降。巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒在他執政第八年俘虜了約雅斤，
