The king of Egypt did not march out from his own country again, because the king of Babylon had taken all his territory, from the Wadi of Egypt to the Euphrates River.

The king of Egypt didn’t march out from his own country again. That’s because the king of Babylon had taken so much of his territory. It reached from the Wadi of Egypt all the way to the Euphrates River.

Then Pharaoh’s army came up from Egypt; and when the Chaldeans who were besieging Jerusalem heard news of them, they departed from Jerusalem.Then the word of the Lord came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel,‘ Thus you shall say to the king of Judah, who sent you to Me to inquire of Me:“ Behold, Pharaoh’s army which has come up to help you will return to Egypt, to their own land.

On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying:“ To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates—

the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and it shall end at the Sea.

From there it passed toward Azmon and went out to the Brook of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your southern border.

And it shall come to pass in that day That the Lord will thresh, From the channel of the River to the Brook of Egypt; And you will be gathered one by one, O you children of Israel.

So Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.
