Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his attendants, his nobles and his officials all surrendered to him. In the eighth year of the reign of the king of Babylon, he took Jehoiachin prisoner.

Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, handed himself over to Nebuchadnezzar. Jehoiachin’s mother did the same thing. And so did all his attendants, nobles and officials. The king of Babylon took Jehoiachin away as his prisoner. It was in the eighth year of Nebuchadnezzar’s rule.

耶利米對西底家說：「耶和華－萬軍之上帝、以色列的上帝如此說：你若歸順巴比倫王的官長，你的命就必存活，這城也不致被火焚燒，你和你的全家都必存活。你若不歸順巴比倫王的官長，這城必交在迦勒底人手中。他們必用火焚燒，你也不得脫離他們的手。」

巴比倫王以未‧米羅達作王的元年，就是猶大王約雅斤被擄後三十七年十二月二十五日，他使猶大王約雅斤抬起頭來，提他出監，

耶和華說：「約雅敬的兒子猶大王哥尼雅，雖是我右手上帶印的戒指，我憑我的永生起誓，我必將你從其上摘下來。我要將你交在尋索你命的人和你所懼怕的人手中，就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒和迦勒底人手中。我也要將你和生你的母親趕到別國，不是你們出生的地方；你們必死在那裏，心中雖然很想歸回那地，卻不得歸回。」哥尼雅這人是被輕看、遭毀壞的罐子，是無人喜愛的器皿嗎？他和他的後裔為何被趕到素不認識之地呢？地啊，地啊，地啊，當聽耶和華的話！耶和華如此說：「要把這人登記為無子，是平生不得亨通的人；因為他後裔中再無一人得亨通，能坐在大衛的寶座上治理猶大。」
