The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the priests next in rank and the doorkeepers to remove from the temple of the Lord all the articles made for Baal and Asherah and all the starry hosts. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley and took the ashes to Bethel.

Certain things in the Lord’ s temple had been made to honor other gods. They were the god named Baal, the female god named Asherah and all the stars in the sky. The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest to remove those things. The king ordered the priests who were next in rank and the men who guarded the doors to help Hilkiah. Josiah took those things that had been in the Lord’ s temple and burned them outside Jerusalem. He burned them in the fields in the Kidron Valley. And he took the ashes to Bethel.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second order and the keepers of the threshold to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

Then the king instructed Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second rank and the Temple gatekeepers to remove from the Lord’s Temple all the articles that were used to worship Baal, Asherah, and all the powers of the heavens. The king had all these things burned outside Jerusalem on the terraces of the Kidron Valley, and he carried the ashes away to Bethel.

Then the king commanded the high priest Hilkiah and the priests of the second rank and the doorkeepers to bring out of the LORD’s sanctuary all the articles made for Baal, Asherah, and all the stars in the sky. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

Then the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the utensils that had been made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the heavenly lights; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.

The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the high-ranking priests, and the guards to bring out of the LORD’s temple all the items that were used in the worship of Baal, Asherah, and all the stars of the sky. The king burned them outside of Jerusalem in the terraces of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

The king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring out of Yahweh’s temple all the vessels that were made for Baal, for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky, and he burned them outside of Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

以色列啊，你雖然行淫，別讓猶大「有罪」哦。不要往吉甲去，不要上伯亞文，也不要指着永活的永恆主來起誓。

現在你要差遣人集合以色列人、和巴力的神言人四百五十個、以及亞舍拉的神言人四百個、都上迦密山去見我。』

那時祭司長和民間的長老聚集在稱為該亞法的大祭司院子裏，

耶穌說了這些話，就同門徒出去，到汲淪谿谷那邊。在那裏有個園子，他和門徒就進去。

遍地都大聲哭；眾民盡都過去；王站在汲淪谿谷；眾民都對着到曠野的路向過去。

他們將給了他們的公牛豫備好了，就呼求巴力的名，從早晨直到中午一直呼求說：『巴力啊，答應我們吧！』卻沒有聲音，也沒有答應的；他們直在所造的祭壇旁舞蹈跳躍。

所以雅各若叫祭壇的石頭變為砸碎的灰石，使亞舍拉神木和香壇不得立着：雅各罪孽之得赦除、全在於此：這就是除掉他的罪的整個條件。

怎麼啦！你們偷盜、兇殺、姦淫、起假誓、燻祭獻給巴力，隨從素不認識之別的神，

不但如此，他也將在伯特利的祭壇，和那使以色列人犯了罪的、尼八的兒子耶羅波安、所建築的邱壇，那祭壇和那邱壇約西亞都拆毁，把那邱壇打碎成灰去燒，將亞舍拉神木都燒掉。

他們離棄了永恆主，去服事巴力和亞斯他錄。

他就把牛犢一隻立在伯特利，一隻安在但。

『到伯特利去行悖逆吧！到吉甲去增加反叛吧！早晨獻上你們的祭物！每三日奉上你們的十分之一吧！

他犯了尼八的兒子耶羅波安所犯的罪、還以為輕，竟又娶了西頓王謁巴力的女兒耶洗別為妻子，去服事敬拜巴力；

但我在以色列中已為自己保存了七千個餘民、是未曾向巴力屈膝過，未曾和巴力親嘴過的。』

他又將他所做雕塑物的像立在上帝殿中；這殿卻是永恆主曾對大衛和大衛兒子所羅門指着說：『是在這殿並在我從以色列眾族派中所選擇的耶路撒冷、我要立我的名到永遠的。

守門者的班次記在下面：屬可拉族的、亞薩的子孫中有可利的兒子米施利米雅。米施利米雅有幾個兒子：大的是撒迦利亞，第二的是耶疊，第三的是西巴第雅，第四的是耶提聶，第五的是以攔，第六的是約哈難，第七的是以利約乃。俄別以東有幾個兒子；大的是示瑪雅，第二的是約薩拔，第三的是約亞，第四的是沙甲，第五的是拿坦業，第六的是亞米利，第七的是以薩迦，第八的是毘烏利太；因為上帝賜福與俄別以東。他的兒子示瑪雅生了幾個兒子，是掌管他們父親家的，因為他們都是有魄力英明的人。示瑪雅的兒子是俄得尼、利法益、俄備得、以利薩巴；以利薩巴的弟兄是有魄力的人；還有以利戶和西瑪迦。這些人都是俄別以東子孫中的人，很能幹會辦事的、六十二人、屬於俄別以東的。米施利米雅有兒子和弟兄是有魄力的人，共十八個人。米拉利的子孫中何薩有幾個兒子：頭一個是申利；申利原不是長子，是他父親立他做頭的；第二的是希勒家，第三的是底巴利雅，第四的是撒迦利亞；何薩的兒子和弟兄共有十三人。以上是守門者的班次、做頭的人的班次；其職守跟他們的族弟兄並立，就是在永恆主之殿裏供職。他們無論大小、都按父系的家屬拈鬮，一門一門分守。守東門的鬮是落於示利米雅。他們也給他的兒子撒迦利亞、一個精明的參謀、拈鬮；他的鬮拈出北門來。俄別以東守南門；他的兒子守庫房。何薩守西門，靠近廂房大門、在上行的大路上：這班跟那班並立而守。守東門的每日有六個人，守北門的每日有四個人，守南門的每日有四個人，守庫房的是兩個人兩個人輪流的。在西面聖殿的遊廊有四個人在大路上，有兩個人在遊廊那裏。以上是可拉子孫和米拉利子孫守門的班次。

他們撇棄了永恆主他們的上帝一切的誡命，竟為自己造了兩個牛犢的鑄像，又造了亞舍拉神木，去敬拜天上的萬象，又事奉巴力。

『你上去見大祭司希勒家，叫他將人所奉到永恆主之殿的銀子、就是把守門檻的人從人民中收集的銀子、總算一算，

以利亞對他們說：『將巴力的神言人捉住；一個也不可讓逃脫。』眾人就把他們捉住；以利亞將他們帶下去到基順谿谷中，在那裏把他們宰殺掉。

護衛長拿住祭司長西萊雅、副祭司西番亞、和三個把守門檻的；

他在位第八年，那時還年幼，就開始尋求他祖大衛的上帝。第十二年他便開始潔淨猶大和耶路撒冷，除去邱壇、亞舍拉神木、雕像、和鑄像。眾人在他面前拆毁了巴力的祭壇，他砍下了壇上高高的香壇，又把亞舍拉神木、雕像和鑄像打碎成灰，撒在對這些偶像獻過祭的人的墳墓上。

到了早晨，眾祭司長和民間的長老商議怎樣陷害耶穌、來治死他；

他們發現了以利亞撒子孫中為人首領的，比以他瑪子孫中的多，就把他們分配起來：屬以利亞撒子孫為首領的、按他們父系的家屬有十六人，屬以他瑪子孫的、按他們父系的家屬有八人。他們憑拈鬮把他們分配起來，彼此同樣；因為以利亞撒的子孫中和以他瑪的子孫中都有人在聖所做首領、或是在上帝面前做首領的。做祕書的利未人拿坦業的兒子示瑪雅在王面前、和首領們跟祭司撒督、亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒、跟祭司和利未人父系家屬的族長面前、記錄下來；屬以利亞撒的有一個父系的家屬被選取了，屬以他瑪的也有一個被選取。頭一鬮拈出來的是耶何雅立，第二鬮是耶大雅，第三是哈琳，第四是梭琳，第五是瑪基雅，第六是米雅民，第七是哈歌斯，第八是亞比雅，第九是耶書亞，第十是示迦尼，第十一是以利亞實，第十二是雅金，第十三是胡巴，第十四是耶是比押，第十五是璧迦，第十六是音麥，第十七是希悉，第十八是哈闢悉，第十九是毘他希雅，第二十是以西結，第二十一是雅斤，第二十二是迦末，第二十三是第來雅，第二十四是瑪西亞。這是他們受派服務的次序；他們要照規矩進永恆主的殿；那規矩是由他們的祖亞倫經手所立、照永恆主以色列的上帝所吩咐的。
