因猶大族棄我、焚香奉事他上帝、以其所為干我震怒、故我憾此邑之民、靡有已時。

蓋彼眾棄我、焚香於他神、以其手所為、激我之怒、故我發怒於此而不息、

因猶大人違棄我、焚香於他神、他神或作異邦之神以其所為、干犯我怒、故我向此處震怒、如烈火不熄、

Because they have forsaken me and burned incense to other gods and aroused my anger by all the idols their hands have made, my anger will burn against this place and will not be quenched.’

That’s because the people have deserted me. They have burned incense to other gods. They have made me very angry because of the statues of gods their hands have made. So my anger will burn like a fire against this place. And the fire of my anger will not be put out.’ ” ’

Because they have forsaken me and have made offerings to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath will be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched.

For my people have abandoned me and offered sacrifices to pagan gods, and I am very angry with them for everything they have done. My anger will burn against this place, and it will not be quenched.’

列邦之所為上帝、非上帝也、然未嘗有人棄之、我民昔則歸榮於我、今又棄我、以事無益之物。耶和華又曰、天亦以此為奇、愕然駭異。我民作二大惡、我乃活水之源、彼反棄予、器易敗漏、不得盛水、彼反造作。

在彼郇城、有罪惡狂妄之徒、見余降災、畏葸戰慄曰、我遇斯火、永遭炮烙、孰能當焉、

彼稱木為父、稱石為母、居恆之際、則背逆乎我、患難之時、則求予援手。猶大人與、爾之眾邑、各事一上帝、其數相等、所作之像安在、盍使彼並起、拯救爾曹。

以色列族再行惡於耶和華前、奉事巴力亞大綠、及敘利亞人西頓人摩押人亞捫人非利士人之上帝、棄耶和華而不服事。耶和華震怒、付之於非利士人及亞捫人手、

乃偕異邦人、爰居爰處、染其污俗兮、事其偶像、罹於罪網兮、焚厥子女、以祭鬼神兮、流子女無辜之血、以祀迦南之偶像、污衊斯土兮、狥私欲、作惡事、偏多穢行兮、於是耶和華奮怒、痛疾厥民兮、使之見敗於異邦、受制於仇敵兮、維彼寇讎、困迫之兮、恃強以凌虐兮、

南郊之林、宜聽耶和華之言、主耶和華曰、我必燃火林間、凡爾樹木、或青或枯、焚之務盡、其燄不滅、自南及北、四周盡燬、眾人皆知、我耶和華所燃、不得撲滅。

乃民弗順、違逆乎爾、背爾律例、爾之先知訓迪之、使歸於爾、反為所殺、干爾震怒。故爾使之困於敵國、遭難之時、彼呼籲爾、爾自天俯聽、矜憫靡涯、累賜扶危之士、不為敵所害。

我耶和華震怒之日、彼有金銀、不得贖其生命、我怒憤烈、必毀斯土、所居之民、必猝然殄絶之焉。

爾以何物譬予、與我相比儗哉。人傾囊、出其金銀、權其輕重、以畀工人、俾鑄上帝像、俯伏崇拜、負之於肩、置諸一所、立而不動、呼而莫應、望其拯難、而彼不能。爾曹陷於罪者、當深思之、其無愧於丈夫。

我欲訓異邦人使得救、彼阻尼之、如是厥罪貫盈、終必罹罰、

俱必問曰、耶和華降罰於斯土、何為至於如此、其烈怒之甚、又曷故乎。人必曰、昔導斯民出於埃及、其祖之上帝耶和華與之立約、斯民違其言、從他上帝而崇奉之、然他上帝彼所未識、耶和華亦未嘗姑聽其服事、故震怒斯民、以書所載之咒詛、加乎其身。耶和華怒甚烈、氣甚憤、拔其根株、驅逐於異邦、即以今日之事為證。

如爾不聽、不以安息日為聖日、仍於安息日負荷入耶路撒冷邑門、則我必火焚邑門、延及宮殿、無人撲滅。

更有餘木、以製偶像、以像上帝、俯伏而拜、禱曰、誠我上帝、爾其救予、維彼不識不知、其目若塗以泥、其心不明、孰能深思其故、奮然儆醒曰、材木之半、焚之可以烘餅炙肉、而供口腹、則其餘材、豈可作像、拜此可憎之榾柮。彼心昏迷、所望成空、若食燼餘而不悟、不知右手所作、悉屬虛妄。

更有偶像林立、皆其手造、彼民也、自尊逮卑、上帝必降抑之、不加赦宥。

以色列族行惡於耶和華前、忘其上帝耶和華、事諸巴力亞大綠、故耶和華怒以色列族、付之於米所波大米王、古山哩薩田、為其役事、凡歷八年。

導其祖出埃及之上帝耶和華、反背之、四周民之上帝、則尊崇伏拜之、以是干耶和華震怒。蓋背耶和華事巴力亞大綠、故耶和華怒以色列族、付於四周之敵、為人所虜、莫能扞禦。

我使必行於爾前、爾往導民至我所言之處、迨降罰日、我必罰之、

主耶和華曰、我必降災、斯邦之民、以及野獸、林木、田土所產、我怒甚烈、靡人遏止。

如爾及子孫、背逆乎我、不守所命之禮儀禁令、奉事他上帝、我將於所賜之地、殲滅以色列族、我所成聖之殿、為籲名之所者必毀、使以色列族為兆民作歌譏刺。凡過此有名之殿宇、必駭異、作怨憤之聲。如有詢及者曰、耶和華毀此殿、害此國也、曷故。則必答曰、昔其上帝耶和華、導其列祖出於埃及、彼乃違逆、反簡他上帝、奉事崇拜、故耶和華降以是災。

籲耶和華曰、舍我上帝、服事巴力、我實有罪。耶和華諭以色列族曰、我豈非拯爾於埃及人、亞摩哩人、亞捫人、非利士人者乎。昔西頓人、亞馬力人、馬雲人虐爾、爾籲時、我援爾於其手。汝乃棄我、事他上帝、故不復救爾。爾所簡之上帝、爾可籲之、使彼拯爾於難。

彼譏上帝之使、藐視其命、侮其先知、干耶和華震怒、不復援手、

斫爾偶像、使爾於人手所作之物、不復崇拜焉、

棄列祖之上帝耶和華、不從其道、

彼之偶像、金銀而已、人手所雕作兮。有口不言、有目不睹兮、有耳不能聞聲、有鼻不知辨臭兮、有手不可提挈。有足不可步履、有喉舌不可談吐兮、造作之、倚賴之、與彼無異兮、

耶書崙體胖、桀驁不馴、肥而多脂、上帝造之、彼反違逆、上帝拯之、彼反藐視。彼崇他上帝、干厥震怒。彼事可惡之物、攖其忿懥、彼祭鬼神、不崇上帝、彼崇他上帝素所未識、初從鄰國而來、即其祖宗亦未嘗敬畏。生成之上帝、彼棄而不從、造化之上帝、彼忘而弗念。耶和華見其子女、作可惡之事、憎之特甚、

我之忿怒如火之燎、燃於幽冥、爇其全地、偕土產以俱焚、並山基而同燬。
