but never again prophesy at Bethel, for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is a temple of the kingdom.”

“ Come to Bethel, and transgress; to Gilgal, and multiply transgression; bring your sacrifices every morning, your tithes every three days;

Remove vexation from your heart, and put away pain from your body, for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.

If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”So also the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked him, saying,“ He saved others; he cannot save himself. He is the King of Israel; let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him.He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him. For he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”

Though you play the whore, O Israel, let not Judah become guilty. Enter not into Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, and swear not,“ As the Lord lives.”

but do not seek Bethel, and do not enter into Gilgal or cross over to Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into exile, and Bethel shall come to nothing.”
