And when the sons of the prophets which[ were] to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

The company of the prophets from Jericho, who were watching, said,“ The spirit of Elijah is resting on Elisha.” And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.

The group of prophets from Jericho were watching. They said,“ The spirit of Elijah has been given to Elisha.” They went over to Elisha. They bowed down to him with their faces toward the ground.

Now when the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho saw him opposite them, they said,“ The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” And they came to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.

When the group of prophets from Jericho saw from a distance what happened, they exclaimed,“ Elijah’s spirit rests upon Elisha!” And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.

When the sons of the prophets from Jericho who were observing saw him, they said,“ The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him and bowed down to the ground in front of him.

Now when the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho opposite him saw him, they said,“ The spirit of Elijah has settled on Elisha.” And they came to meet him and bowed down to the ground before him.

Now when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said,“ The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.

And when the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho over against him saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

When the sons of the prophets from Jericho who were facing him saw him, they said,“ The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him and bowed down to the ground in front of him.

When the members of the prophetic guild in Jericho, who were standing at a distance, saw him do this, they said,“ The spirit that energized Elijah rests upon Elisha.” They went to meet him and bowed down to the ground before him.

When the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho facing him saw him, they said,“ The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father,[ even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

As for me, this[ is] my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that[ is] upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours,[ even] empty vessels; borrow not a few.And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.

And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast[ it] in thither; and the iron did swim.Therefore said he, Take[ it] up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.

If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy[ are ye]; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses,[ so] I will be with thee.

And thou shalt put[ some] of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that[ was] upon him, and gave[ it] unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass,[ that], when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.But there remained two[ of the] men in the camp, the name of the one[ was] Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they[ were] of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses,[ one] of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets,[ and] that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city[ is] pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water[ is] naught, and the ground barren.
