He sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary and the leading priests, all wearing sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.

Hezekiah sent Eliakim, who was in charge of the palace, to Isaiah the prophet. Isaiah was the son of Amoz. Hezekiah also sent to Isaiah the leading priests and Shebna the secretary. All of them were wearing the same rough clothing.

And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and the senior priests, covered with sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz.

And he sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the court secretary, and the leading priests, all dressed in burlap, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.

當烏西雅、約坦、亞哈斯、希西家作猶大王的時候，亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞見異象，論到猶大和耶路撒冷。

他差遣以利亞敬宮廷總管和舍伯那書記，並祭司中年長的，都披上麻衣，到亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞先知那裏去。他們對他說：「希西家如此說：『今日是急難、懲罰、凌辱的日子，就如嬰孩快要出生，卻沒有力氣生產。或許耶和華－你的神聽見亞述將軍的話，就是他主人亞述王差他來辱罵永生神的話，耶和華－你的神就斥責所聽見的這些話。求你為倖存的餘民揚聲禱告。』」希西家王的臣僕就來到以賽亞那裏。

正如以賽亞先知書上所記的話：「在曠野有聲音呼喊着：預備主的道，修直他的路！

烏西雅其餘的事，自始至終，亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞先知都記錄下來。

這是要應驗以賽亞先知所說的話：

他們呼叫王，希勒家的兒子以利亞敬宮廷總管，舍伯那書記和亞薩的兒子約亞史官就出來見他們。
