列國之神、誰拯其國脫於我手、耶和華能拯耶路撒冷、脫於我手乎、

列國諸上帝中、孰一救其國於我手、是則耶和華焉能救耶路撒冷於我手乎。

列國之諸神中、有誰救其國脫於我手、獨主能救耶路撒冷脫於我手乎、

Who of all the gods of these countries has been able to save his land from me? How then can the Lord deliver Jerusalem from my hand?”

What god of any nation has ever been able to save its people from my power? So what makes you think that the Lord can rescue Jerusalem from me?”

Now if you are ready whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, good; but if you don’t worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the middle of a burning fiery furnace. Who is that god that will deliver you out of my hands?”

Should an ax brag against him who chops with it? Should a saw exalt itself above him who saws with it? As if a rod should lift those who lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up someone who is not wood.

Truly, Yahweh, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,

Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, saying,

I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice cypress trees. I will enter into its farthest height, the forest of its fruitful field.I have dug and drunk water, and with the sole of my feet I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt.”“‘ Have you not heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it in ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to destroy fortified cities, turning them into ruinous heaps.Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field, and like the green herb, like the grass on the housetops, and like a field before its crop has grown.But I know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against me.Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.

Because he has stretched out his hand against God, and behaves himself proudly against the Almighty,he runs at him with a stiff neck, with the thick shields of his bucklers,

Now therefore don’t let Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you in this way. Don’t believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you out of my hand?”
