Amaziah, however, would not listen, so Jehoash king of Israel attacked. He and Amaziah king of Judah faced each other at Beth Shemesh in Judah.

But Amaziah wouldn’t listen. So Jehoash, the king of Israel, attacked. He and Amaziah, the king of Judah, faced each other in battle. The battle took place at Beth Shemesh in Judah.

But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up, and he and Amaziah king of Judah faced one another in battle at Beth-shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

But Amaziah refused to listen, so King Jehoash of Israel mobilized his army against King Amaziah of Judah. The two armies drew up their battle lines at Beth shemesh in Judah.

But Amaziah would not listen, so King Jehoash of Israel advanced. He and King Amaziah of Judah met face to face at Beth-shemesh that belonged to Judah.

But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and they faced each other, he and Amaziah king of Judah, at Beth shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

以利穩、密大伊勒、和璉、伯亞納、伯示麥：十九座城、和屬這些城的村莊：

然後看看；它如果按到它境界的路向上伯示麥去，那就是永恆主將這大災禍降在我們身上的；若不然，我們便可以知道不是他的手在擊打我們；那是我們偶然遇見的。』非利士人就這樣行，他們將兩隻餵奶的母牛套在車上，把牛仔關在家裏；將永恆主的櫃放在車上，也放上匣子跟金老鼠和它們的鼠疫疱的像。牛在路上、按到伯示麥的路向、在一條大路上直直地走，一面走一面叫，不偏於右，也不偏於左；非利士人的霸主們在後面跟着走、直到伯示麥的境界。伯示麥人正在山谷中收割麥子；他們一舉目，就看見約櫃，並且歡歡喜喜地觀看着。車到了伯示麥人約書亞的田間，就在那裏站住；在那裏有一塊大石頭；他們就把車木頭劈開，將兩隻母牛做燔祭獻上與永恆主。利未人把永恆主的櫃和附帶的匣子、裏面裝金器的、拿下來，放在大石頭上；那一天伯示麥人獻上燔祭，又宰獻了別的祭給永恆主。非利士人的五個霸主看見，就在那一天回以革倫去了。非利士人所還給永恆主做賠罪禮物的金鼠疫疱、就是以下這些：亞實突有一個，迦薩有一個，亞實基倫有一個，迦特有一個，以革倫有一個；還有金老鼠、是照那屬五霸主的、非利士人眾城市的數目，無論是有堡壘的城或是鄉下人的小村子、以及那大石頭，就是他們將永恆主的櫃安放在那上頭的；直到今日、那石頭還在伯示麥人約書亞的田間。但是耶哥尼雅的兒子們看見永恆主的櫃時候不和伯示麥人一同歡樂，永恆主就擊殺了他們七十個人；因為永恆主大大擊殺了眾民，眾民就哀悼。

又從巴拉往西繞到西珥山，過到耶琳阪坡的北邊（耶琳就是基撒崙）；又下伯示麥，過亭納；

神言人向王說話的時候，王對他說：『我們何曾立你做參謀呢？你止住、別說吧！為甚麼硬要被打死呢？』那神言人就止住了；可又再說：『我知道上帝是定下了主意要滅絕你的，因為你行這事，不聽我給你出的主意。』
