Amaziah, however, would not listen, so Jehoash king of Israel attacked. He and Amaziah king of Judah faced each other at Beth Shemesh in Judah.

But Amaziah wouldn’t listen. So Jehoash, the king of Israel, attacked. He and Amaziah, the king of Judah, faced each other in battle. The battle took place at Beth Shemesh in Judah.

But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up, and he and Amaziah king of Judah faced one another in battle at Beth-shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

But Amaziah refused to listen, so King Jehoash of Israel mobilized his army against King Amaziah of Judah. The two armies drew up their battle lines at Beth shemesh in Judah.

But Amaziah would not listen, so King Jehoash of Israel advanced. He and King Amaziah of Judah met face to face at Beth-shemesh that belonged to Judah.

你们要观察：如果约柜往自己的地界伯示麦方向去，那么就是耶和华对我们降下了这大灾祸；如果不是这样，我们就知道：不是耶和华的手击打我们，而是偶然发生在我们身上的。”人们就这样做：牵来两头哺乳期母牛，套在车上，把牛犊关在圈里，然后把耶和华的约柜以及那装了金老鼠和金肿物雕像的盒子，都放在车上。母牛在通往伯示麦的路上直行，走在大道上，边走边叫，不偏离左右。非利士的首领们跟在它们后面，直到伯示麦的边界。伯示麦人正在平原收割小麦，他们举目看见约柜，就欢喜观望。牛车来到伯示麦人约书亚的田间，就在那里停住，那里有一块大石头。伯示麦人劈开牛车的木料，然后把母牛作为燔祭献给耶和华。利未人把耶和华的约柜，以及它旁边装着金器的盒子卸下来，放在那块大石头上。伯示麦人当天向耶和华献上燔祭，又献上其他祭物。非利士的五个首领看到这些，当天就返回了以革伦。非利士人带给耶和华作赔罪礼物的这些金肿物，一个是为阿实突，一个是为加沙，一个是为阿实基伦，一个是为迦特，一个是为以革伦。金老鼠是按着五个首领所管辖的非利士城市的总数，城市包括坚固城和无城墙的乡镇。至于那块放置耶和华约柜的大石头，直到今天还在伯示麦人约书亚的田地里。耶和华击杀伯示麦人，因为他们擅自看了耶和华的约柜里面；他击杀了民众五万零七十个人。耶和华大大击杀民众，民众就悲恸。
