撒母耳起身，從吉甲上便雅憫的基比亞去了。掃羅數點留在他那裡的軍兵，約有六百人。

看哪！我要使你成為一個嶄新、銳利、多齒的打穀器具；你必脫打、磨碎群山，又使岡陵如同糠秕。你必簸揚它們，風就把它們吹去，狂風使它們四散；但你必因耶和華而快樂，因以色列的聖者而誇耀。

是誰從東方興起了一人，憑公義把他召喚到腳前？是誰把列國交在他面前，讓他制伏君王們？他用刀使他們如塵土，用弓使他們像被吹散的麥稭；

「現在你可以與我主亞述王下一個賭注：你那邊如果能給出相應的騎士，我就給你兩千匹馬；

我搗碎他們，如同風前的塵土；我倒出他們，如同街上的爛泥。
