When he left there, he found Jehonadab son of Rechab coming to meet him. He greeted him and then asked,“ Is your heart one with mine?”“ It is,” Jehonadab replied. Jehu said,“ If it is, give me your hand.” So he gave him his hand, and Jehu pulled him up into the chariot with him.

耶戶離彼而往、遇利甲子約拿達來迎、乃問其安曰、爾心正直向我、如我心之正直向爾乎、約拿達曰、然、曰、如是、則與我攜手、遂與攜手、耶戶挽之登車、

由彼而往、遇哩甲子約拿撻、施禮既竟、問曰、我心與爾相合、不知爾心亦與我相合乎。約拿撻曰、無不相合。曰、合則與我攜手。遂攜手、賜之同車。

自彼而往、遇利甲子約拿達來迎、耶戶問其安、謂之曰、我心向爾真誠、不知爾心向我亦真誠否、約拿達曰、真誠、耶戶曰、如是、則向我伸手、遂伸手、耶戶挽之登車、

After he left there, he came upon Jehonadab son of Rekab, who was on his way to meet him. Jehu greeted him and said,“ Are you in accord with me, as I am with you?”“ I am,” Jehonadab answered.“ If so,” said Jehu,“ give me your hand.” So he did, and Jehu helped him up into the chariot.

Jehu left there. On the way he met Jehonadab. He was the son of Rekab. Jehonadab was on his way to see Jehu. Jehu greeted him. He asked,“ Are you my friend? You know I’m your friend.”“ I am,” Jehonadab answered.“ If that’s true,” said Jehu,“ hold out your hand.” So he did. Then Jehu helped him up into the chariot.

And when he departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him. And he greeted him and said to him,“ Is your heart true to my heart as mine is to yours?” And Jehonadab answered,“ It is.” Jehu said,“ If it is, give me your hand.” So he gave him his hand. And Jehu took him up with him into the chariot.

When Jehu left there, he met Jehonadab son of Recab, who was coming to meet him. After they had greeted each other, Jehu said to him,“ Are you as loyal to me as I am to you?”“ Yes, I am,” Jehonadab replied.“ If you are,” Jehu said,“ then give me your hand.” So Jehonadab put out his hand, and Jehu helped him into the chariot.

Now when he had gone from there, he encountered Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him; and he greeted him and said to him,“ Is your heart right, just as my heart is with your heart?” And Jehonadab answered,“ It is.” Jehu said,“ If it is, give me your hand.” And he gave him his hand, and he pulled him up to him into the chariot.

Now when he departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab, coming to meet him; and he greeted him and said to him,“ Is your heart right, as my heart is toward your heart?” And Jehonadab answered,“ It is.” Jehu said,“ If it is, give me your hand.” So he gave him his hand, and he took him up to him into the chariot.

And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him; and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thy heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thy hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

When he left there, he found Jehonadab son of Rechab coming to meet him. He greeted him and then asked,“ Is your heart one with mine?”“ It is,” Jehonadab replied. Jehu said,“ If it is, give me your hand.” So he gave him his hand, and Jehu pulled him up into the chariot with him.

And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab[ coming] to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart[ is] with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give[ me] thine hand. And he gave[ him] his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

When he left there, he met Jehonadab, son of Rekab, who had been looking for him. Jehu greeted him and asked,“ Are you as committed to me as I am to you?” Jehonadab answered,“ I am!” Jehu replied,“ If so, give me your hand.” So he offered his hand and Jehu pulled him up into the chariot.

When he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him. He greeted him, and said to him,“ Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?” Jehonadab answered,“ It is.”“ If it is, give me your hand.” He gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

The words of Jonadab, son of Rechab, have been carried out. He commanded his descendants not to drink wine, and they have not drunk to this day because they have obeyed their ancestor’s command. But I have spoken to you time and time again, and you have not obeyed me!Time and time again I have sent you all my servants the prophets, proclaiming,“ Turn, each one from his evil way, and correct your actions. Stop following other gods to serve them. Live in the land that I gave you and your ancestors.” But you did not pay attention or obey me.Yes, the sons of Jonadab son of Rechab carried out their ancestor’s command he gave them, but these people have not obeyed me.Therefore, this is what the LORD, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says: I will certainly bring on Judah and on all the residents of Jerusalem all the disaster I have pronounced against them because I have spoken to them, but they have not obeyed, and I have called to them, but they did not answer.’”But to the house of the Rechabites Jeremiah said,“ This is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says:‘ Because you have obeyed the command of your ancestor Jonadab and have kept all his commands and have done everything he commanded you,this is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Jonadab son of Rechab will never fail to have a man to stand before me always.’”

They pledged to send their wives away, and being guilty, they offered a ram from the flock for their guilt;

and the families of scribes who lived in Jabez— the Tirathites, Shimeathites, and Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of Rechab’s family.

He despised the oath by breaking the covenant. He did all these things even though he gave his hand in pledge. He will not escape!

I beg you, brothers and sisters: Become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You have not wronged me;

David went out to meet them and said to them,“ If you have come in peace to help me, my heart will be united with you, but if you have come to betray me to my enemies even though my hands have done no wrong, may the God of our ancestors look on it and judge.”Then the Spirit enveloped Amasai, chief of the Thirty, and he said: We are yours, David, we are with you, son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to him who helps you, for your God helps you. So David received them and made them leaders of his troops.

“ How can I,” he said,“ unless someone guides me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

Jehu met the relatives of King Ahaziah of Judah and asked,“ Who are you?” They answered,“ We’re Ahaziah’s relatives. We’ve come down to greet the king’s sons and the queen mother’s sons.”

Joseph then brought his father Jacob and presented him to Pharaoh, and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.

So Jacob blessed Pharaoh and departed from Pharaoh’s presence.

When James, Cephas, and John— those recognized as pillars— acknowledged the grace that had been given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to me and Barnabas, agreeing that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

Laban got up early in the morning, kissed his grandchildren and daughters, and blessed them. Then Laban left to return home.

“ Get the chariot ready!” Joram shouted, and they got it ready. Then King Joram of Israel and King Ahaziah of Judah set out, each in his own chariot, and met Jehu at the plot of land of Naboth the Jezreelite.

When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said to him,“ you know that I love you.”“ Feed my lambs,” he told him.A second time he asked him,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said to him,“ you know that I love you.”“ Shepherd my sheep,” he told him.He asked him the third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved that he asked him the third time,“ Do you love me?” He said,“ Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.”“ Feed my sheep,” Jesus said.

But they replied,“ We do not drink wine, for Jonadab, son of our ancestor Rechab, commanded,‘ You and your descendants must never drink wine.You must not build a house or sow seed or plant a vineyard. Those things are not for you. Rather, you must live in tents your whole life, so you may live a long time on the soil where you stay as a resident alien.’We have obeyed Jonadab, son of our ancestor Rechab, in all he commanded us. So we haven’t drunk wine our whole life— we, our wives, our sons, and our daughters.We also have not built houses to live in and do not have vineyard, field, or seed.But we have lived in tents and have obeyed and done everything our ancestor Jonadab commanded us.
