他贖救他們脫離欺凌和強暴；他們的血、他看為寶貴。

但我不為性命作甚麼計算，而看為對自己有價值；比較起來，倒不如完盡了我的跑程、和我從主耶穌所領受的執事職任，鄭重證明上帝恩惠之福音。

掃羅說：『我有罪了；我兒大衛，你回來吧；今天你既看我的性命為寶貝，我再也不加害於你了。看哪，我幹了糊塗事了；我大錯而特錯了。』

使他永久活着，不見冥坑；因為贖他性命的價值極貴，他只好永遠罷休，勿圖自贖。

以利亞回答五十夫長、說：『我，我若是神人，那麼願火從天上降下來、燒滅你和你那五十人。』於是有火從天上降下來、燒滅了五十夫長和他那五十人。王又差遣另一個五十夫長帶着他那五十人去見以利亞。五十夫長應時對以利亞說：『神人哪、王這樣吩咐說：「你趕快下來。」』
