What is more, he was chosen by the churches to accompany us as we carry the offering, which we administer in order to honor the Lord himself and to show our eagerness to help.

及至我來到了，你們寫信舉薦誰，我就打發他們，把你們的捐資送到耶路撒冷去。若我也該去，他們可以和我同去。

凡事都是為你們，好叫恩惠因人多越發加增，感謝格外顯多，以致榮耀歸與神。

但我樣樣都有，並且有餘。我已經充足，因我從以巴弗提受了你們的餽送，當作極美的香氣，為神所收納、所喜悅的祭物。我的神必照他榮耀的豐富，在基督耶穌裏，使你們一切所需用的都充足。

那時，使徒和長老並全教會定意從他們中間揀選人，差他們和保羅、巴拿巴同往安提阿去；所揀選的就是稱呼巴撒巴的猶大和西拉。這兩個人在弟兄中是作首領的。

因為辦這供給的事，不但補聖徒的缺乏，而且叫許多人越發感謝神。他們從這供給的事上得了憑據，知道你們承認基督順服他的福音，多多地捐錢給他們和眾人，便將榮耀歸與神。他們也因神極大的恩賜顯在你們心裏，就切切地想念你們，為你們祈禱。

神能將各樣的恩惠多多地加給你們，使你們凡事常常充足，能多行各樣善事。

弟兄們，我把神賜給馬其頓眾教會的恩告訴你們，就是他們在患難中受大試煉的時候，仍有滿足的快樂，在極窮之間還格外顯出他們樂捐的厚恩。我可以證明，他們是按着力量，而且也過了力量，自己甘心樂意地捐助，再三地求我們，准他們在這供給聖徒的恩情上有分；

所以，我們同心定意，揀選幾個人，差他們同我們所親愛的巴拿巴和保羅往你們那裏去。

各人要照所得的恩賜彼此服事，作神百般恩賜的好管家。若有講道的，要按着神的聖言講；若有服事人的，要按着神所賜的力量服事，叫神在凡事上因耶穌基督得榮耀。原來榮耀、權能都是他的，直到永永遠遠。阿們！

因此我勸提多，既然在你們中間開辦這慈惠的事，就當辦成了。你們既然在信心、口才、知識、熱心，和待我們的愛心上，都格外顯出滿足來，就當在這慈惠的事上也格外顯出滿足來。

所以弟兄們，當從你們中間選出七個有好名聲、被聖靈充滿、智慧充足的人，我們就派他們管理這事。但我們要專心以祈禱、傳道為事。」大眾都喜悅這話，就揀選了司提反，乃是大有信心、聖靈充滿的人，又揀選腓利、伯羅哥羅、尼迦挪、提門、巴米拿，並進猶太教的安提阿人尼哥拉，叫他們站在使徒面前。使徒禱告了，就按手在他們頭上。
