What is more, he was chosen by the churches to accompany us as we carry the offering, which we administer in order to honor the Lord himself and to show our eagerness to help.

當時，使徒們、長老們和全教會都認為應該從他們當中揀選幾個人，派他們與保羅和巴拿巴一起到安提阿去。被選的是那稱為巴撒巴的猶大和賽拉斯，這兩個人在弟兄中是領頭的。

因為這服事的工作，不僅補足了聖徒們的缺乏，並且能藉著對神的許多感謝而充實滿溢。他們藉著這次服事的憑證，因你們順服了那為基督福音所做的告白，也因你們給他們和眾人的慷慨分享，他們就會榮耀神；並且他們因著神賜給你們這無限的恩典，就切切地想念你們，為你們祈禱。

神能使一切的恩典豐豐富富地臨到你們，使你們總是在一切事上都能知足，在一切美善的工作上充實滿溢。

弟兄們，我們要你們明白神在馬其頓省各教會中所賜的恩典：在患難的極大考驗中，他們的喜樂之滿和貧窮之深都流露出來，歸入他們慷慨之心的財富。因為我可以見證他們是按著自己的能力，甚至超過了自己的能力，甘心樂意，用許多乞求的話，懇請我們在對聖徒的服事上給與他們恩准和分享的機會；

我們已達成了一致，認為應該揀選幾個人，派他們與我們親愛的巴拿巴和保羅一起到你們那裡去。

每個人要照著自己所領受的恩賜來彼此服事，做神各種恩典的好管家。如果有人講說，要照著神的話語講說；如果有人服事，要照著神所賜的力量服事，好讓神在一切事上藉著耶穌基督得榮耀。願榮耀和權能都歸於他，直到永永遠遠！阿們。

我們於是勸提多，他怎樣開始了這恩惠之事，就當照樣在你們那裡把它完成；而且你們怎樣在信仰、言語、知識、殷勤和你們對我們的愛心上都豐足有餘，你們也當怎樣在這恩惠之事上豐足有餘。

所以弟兄們，要從你們當中挑選七個有好名聲、充滿聖靈和智慧的人；我們就委任他們統管這事務。這樣，我們將可專心於禱告和福音的服事工作。」這話使全體會眾都喜悅，於是選出了司提反——他是一個充滿信仰和聖靈的人，還有腓利、普羅克羅、尼卡諾、提門、帕米納，以及入猶太教的安提阿人尼古拉斯。他們請這些人站在使徒們面前，使徒們就禱告，按手在他們身上。
