Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses;

Instead, we make it clear that we serve God in every way. We serve him by standing firm in troubles, hard times and suffering.

In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?[ shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am,[ therewith] to be content.I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Who then is Paul, and who[ is] Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD’S ministers, mourn.

And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

In your patience possess ye your souls.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all[ things] I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and[ so] will I keep[ myself].

Are they ministers of Christ?( I speak as a fool) I[ am] more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding[ and] eternal weight of glory;

For he that in these things serveth Christ[ is] acceptable to God, and approved of men.

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all[ men].
