Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

Do not be joined to unbelievers. What do right and wrong have in common? Can light and darkness be friends?

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?

Do not be yoked together with those who do not believe. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

See that no one deceives you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.Therefore do not become partners with them;for you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light( for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),as you try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.Do not participate in the useless deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.For this reason it says,“ Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.”

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

“ You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, otherwise all the produce of the seed which you have sown and the yield of the vineyard will be forfeited to the sanctuary.“ You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.“ You shall not wear a material of wool and linen combined together.

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness, so that the day would overtake you like a thief;for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;so then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober.For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night.But since we are of the day, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

‘ You are to keep My statutes. You shall not cross breed two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment of two kinds of material mixed together.

Do I not hate those who hate You, Lord? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?I hate them with the utmost hatred; They have become my enemies.

I do not sit with deceitful people, Nor will I go with pretenders.I hate the assembly of evildoers, And I will not sit with the wicked.

So I say this, and affirm in the Lord, that you are to no longer walk just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their minds,being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;and they, having become callous, have given themselves up to indecent behavior for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.But you did not learn Christ in this way,

Then Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long are you going to struggle with the two choices? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people did not answer him so much as a word.

“ If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

and when the Lord your God turns them over to you and you defeat them, you shall utterly destroy them. You shall not make a covenant with them nor be gracious to them.Furthermore, you shall not intermarry with them: you shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor shall you take their daughters for your sons.

But they got involved with the nations And learned their practices,

Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the Lord which He loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.

Do not make friends with a person given to anger, Or go with a hot tempered person,

I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people;

so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,

The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let’s rid ourselves of the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.Let’s behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and debauchery, not in strife and jealousy.But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.

I am a companion to all those who fear You, And to those who keep Your precepts.

so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God.For the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having pursued a course of indecent behavior, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties, and wanton idolatries.In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them in the same excesses of debauchery, and they slander you;

An unjust person is an abomination to the righteous, And one who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.

which You have commanded by Your servants the prophets, saying,‘ The land which you are entering to possess is an unclean land with the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, with their abominations which have filled it from end to end, and with their impurity.So now do not give your daughters to their sons nor take their daughters for your sons, and never seek their peace or their prosperity, so that you may be strong and may eat the good things of the land, and leave it as an inheritance to your sons forever.’

The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify about it, that its deeds are evil.

Now when these things had been completed, the officials approached me, saying,“ The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, as to their abominations, those of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy race has intermingled with the peoples of the lands; indeed, the hands of the officials and the leaders have taken the lead in this unfaithfulness.”

They pledged to send away their wives, and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their guilt.

A wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.

As for the saints who are on the earth, They are the majestic ones; all my delight is in them.

But not one has done so who has a remnant of the Spirit. And why the one? He was seeking a godly offspring. Be careful then about your spirit, and see that none of you deals treacherously against the wife of your youth.

and you might take some of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters might prostitute themselves with their gods and cause your sons also to prostitute themselves with their gods.

On that day the Book of Moses was read aloud as the people listened; and there was found written in it that no Ammonite or Moabite was ever to enter the assembly of God,because they did not meet the sons of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them. However, our God turned the curse into a blessing.So when they heard the Law, they excluded all foreigners from Israel.

Then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it into the house of Dagon, and placed it beside Dagon.When the Ashdodites got up early the next day, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and set him back in his place.

If we had forgotten the name of our God Or extended our hands to a strange god,Would God not find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.A perverse heart shall leave me; I will know no evil.Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; I will not endure one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart.

Do not take my soul away along with sinners, Nor my life with men of bloodshed,In whose hands is a wicked scheme, And whose right hand is full of bribes.

When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reported everything that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.

Riches and honor are with me, Enduring wealth and righteousness.My fruit is better than gold, even pure gold; And my yield better than choice silver.

And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him and said to King Jehoshaphat,“ Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord, and by doing so bring wrath on yourself from the Lord?

In those days I also saw that the Jews had married women from Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab.As for their children, half spoke in the language of Ashdod, and none of them knew how to speak the language of Judah, but only the language of his own people.So I quarreled with them and cursed them, and struck some of them and pulled out their hair, and made them swear by God,“ You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take any of their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.Did Solomon the king of Israel not sin regarding these things? Yet among the many nations there was no king like him, and he was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel; yet the foreign women caused even him to sin.
