Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

是吾儕基督使、上帝使我勸爾、吾代基督求爾、與上帝復親、

是以我為基督之使、如天主藉我而勸爾、我代基督、求爾與天主復和、

是則吾儕代表基督、而為天主之星使、不啻天主假吾儕之口而作勸勉焉。因此、吾儕代表基督、剴切求爾、速與天主重歡。

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

So we are Christ’s official messengers. It is as if God were making his appeal through us. Here is what Christ wants us to beg you to do. Come back to God!

So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead,“ Come back to God!”

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf,“ Be reconciled to God.”

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain that God is appealing through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf,“ Be reconciled to God.”

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech[ you] by us: we pray[ you] in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making his plea through us. We plead with you on Christ’s behalf,“ Be reconciled to God!”

We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

And the master said to the servant,‘ Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.

Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.

who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

“ The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel?For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.”

For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.

Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

“ Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

“ Agree with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you.

Jesus said to them again,“ Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”

delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles— to whom I am sending youto open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

“ How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you.Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded,because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof,I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you,when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me.Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord,would have none of my counsel and despised all my reproof,therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way, and have their fill of their own devices.For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacency of fools destroys them;but whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.”

A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a faithful envoy brings healing.

The Lord, the God of their fathers, sent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place.

Yet the Lord warned Israel and Judah by every prophet and every seer, saying,“ Turn from your evil ways and keep my commandments and my statutes, in accordance with all the Law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent to you by my servants the prophets.”

For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me.Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.

Behold, I am toward God as you are; I too was pinched off from a piece of clay.

Jeremiah said,“ You shall not be given to them. Obey now the voice of the Lord in what I say to you, and it shall be well with you, and your life shall be spared.

Give glory to the Lord your God before he brings darkness, before your feet stumble on the twilight mountains, and while you look for light he turns it into gloom and makes it deep darkness.But if you will not listen, my soul will weep in secret for your pride; my eyes will weep bitterly and run down with tears, because the Lord’s flock has been taken captive.

If there be for him an angel, a mediator, one of the thousand, to declare to man what is right for him,

Yet I persistently sent to you all my servants the prophets, saying,‘ Oh, do not do this abomination that I hate!’

Or let them lay hold of my protection, let them make peace with me, let them make peace with me.”

And you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet they acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your rules, which if a person does them, he shall live by them, and they turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck and would not obey.
