毅然棄絕一切暗昧可恥之事、不行巧詐、不貶損天主之道、惟知在天主明鑒之下、藉真理之昌明、而自致於各人之良知而已。

Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.

Instead, we have given up doing secret and shameful things. We don’t twist God’s word. In fact, we do just the opposite. We present the truth plainly. In the sight of God, we make our appeal to everyone’s sense of what is right and wrong.

But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.

We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this.

Instead, we have renounced secret and shameful things, not acting deceitfully or distorting the word of God, but commending ourselves before God to everyone’s conscience by an open display of the truth.

我们不像许多人，把神的道当商品贩卖，而是由于真诚，而是受命于神，在神面前凭着基督讲道。

我们的劝勉不是出于错误，也不是出于污秽，也不是用诡诈。但神既然认定我们经得起考验，把福音托付我们，我们就照着传讲，不是要讨人喜欢，而是要讨那考验我们的心的神喜欢。因为我们从来没有用过谄媚的话，这是你们知道的，也没有藏着贪心，这是神可以作证的。

既然我们知道主是可畏的，就劝导人；但是神是认识我们的，我盼望你们的良心也认识我们。

那样的人是假使徒，行事诡诈，装作基督的使徒。这也不足为奇，因为连撒但也装作光明的天使。所以，他的差役若装作公义的差役也没有什么大不了。他们的结局必然跟他们的行为相符。

所以，时候未到，在主来以前什么都不要评断，他要照出暗中的隐情，揭发人的动机。那时，各人要从神那里得着称赞。

我只怕你们的心偏邪了，失去那向基督所献诚恳贞洁的心，就像蛇用诡诈诱惑了夏娃一样。

我若对提多夸奖过你们什么，也不觉得惭愧，因为我对提多夸奖你们的话是真的，正如我对你们所说的话也向来都是真的。

反倒在各样的事上表明自己是神的用人：就如在持久的忍耐、患难、困苦、灾难、鞭打、监禁、动乱、劳碌、失眠、饥饿、廉洁、知识、坚忍、恩慈、圣灵的感化、无伪的爱心、真实的言语、神的大能、藉着仁义的兵器在左在右、

那么，你们现在所看为羞耻的事，当时有什么果子呢？那些事的结局就是死。

这样，我们不再作小孩子，中了人的诡计和欺骗的法术，被一切邪说之风摇动，飘来飘去。

因为，他们暗中所做的，就是连提起来都是可耻的。

我不以福音为耻；这福音本是神的大能，要救一切相信的，先是犹太人，后是希腊人。

我们所夸的是：我们在世为人，特别是跟你们的关系，是凭着神所赐的坦率和真诚，不是靠人的聪明，而是靠神的恩惠；这是我们的良心可以作证的。

虽然我不擅长说话，我的知识却不如此。这点我们已经在每一方面各样事上向你们表明了。
