Now when I arrived in Troas to proclaim the gospel of Christ, even though the Lord had opened a door of opportunity for me,

Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me,

so they passed through Mysia and went down to Troas.

When they arrived and gathered the church together, they reported all the things God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith for the Gentiles.

At the same time pray for us too, that God may open a door for the message so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

“ To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write the following:“ This is the solemn pronouncement of the Holy One, the True One, who holds the key of David, who opens doors no one can shut, and shuts doors no one can open:‘ I know your deeds.( Look! I have put in front of you an open door that no one can shut.) I know that you have little strength, but you have obeyed my word and have not denied my name.

because a door of great opportunity stands wide open for me, but there are many opponents.

Because the Jews had made a plot against him as he was intending to sail for Syria, he decided to return through Macedonia.Paul was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, and Timothy, as well as Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia.These had gone on ahead and were waiting for us in Troas.We sailed away from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and within five days we came to the others in Troas, where we stayed for seven days.
