但你們不可單憑一個證人便處死那人，要有兩三個證人方可處死他。

你們的律法不是說兩個人做見證就有效嗎？我是自己為自己做見證，差我來的父也為我做見證。」

「『倘若有人被控謀殺，必須有幾個人作證才可以處死他，不可憑一個人的證詞處死他。

叫兩個無賴坐在他對面控告他咒詛上帝和君王，然後把他拉出去用石頭打死。」

人違犯摩西的律法，經兩三個人指證後，尚且被毫不留情地處死，更何況人踐踏上帝的兒子，輕看那使人聖潔的立約之血，又藐視賜人恩典的聖靈？這等人該受多麼重的刑罰啊！

又叫兩名無賴當眾作證指控拿伯咒詛上帝和君王。然後眾人把拿伯拖出城外，用石頭打死了他。

雖然有很多假證人誣告祂，但都找不到真憑實據。最後有兩個人上前高聲說：「這個人曾經說過，『我能拆毀聖殿，三天內把它重建起來。』」
