the Lord appeared to him at night and said:“ I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.

耶和華又顯現於所羅門、與昔在基遍無異、

爾之上帝耶和華、於爾支派中、特簡一室、為爾族籲名之所、爾必詣斯室以禱告。爾之燔祭、祀品、所應輸之什一、所奉獻許願樂輸之禮物、及牛羊首生之牡者、俱必攜之至彼、

是夕上帝顯現、告所羅門曰、爾有所求、吾無弗予。

則所命之燔祭、禮物、所應輸之什一、所奉獻、所許願、以供耶和華者、俱必攜之、至爾上帝耶和華所簡之室、籲名之所、

吾心賴之以安、依厥旨而求、彼必許我、既知其許我、則不論所求若何、我可決其必得、

上帝俯聽予祈、

曰、哥尼流、上帝聞爾祈禱、念爾施濟、

天使曰、撒加利亞勿懼、爾祈禱既聞之矣、爾妻以利沙伯將生子、可名之曰約翰、

乃簡猶大一族、愛斯郇山、爰建聖室、與天同高、與地同久兮、

亞伯蘭九十有九歲、時耶和華顯見、曰全能之上帝、我也、爾之所行、當合乎我、務無失德。

貧者上祈、耶和華傾耳垂聽、而堅其志兮、

我曾簡是殿、使之成聖、為籲我名之所、我必眷顧垂念、歷久靡暨。

維我遴選郇邑、為我居處兮、此我駐蹕之所、我所欣喜、永世弗替兮。

以利亞謂之曰、耶和華遣我至約但汝且待此。曰、我指耶和華以誓、亦指爾生命以誓、我不離爾。於是二人偕行、

爾當復入、告我之民長希西家、爾祖大闢之上帝耶和華云、我見爾祈禱出涕、將愈爾疾、越三日可詣我殿。
