蓋耶利米曾曰、耶和華云、我將付此城於巴比倫王、使彼取之、猶大王西底家不能脫於迦勒底人手、必解至巴比倫王前、詰問研究、曳至巴比倫、居彼、待我耶和華眷顧之、爾曹雖戰巴比倫軍、必不獲利。西底家王聞之、怒其言不利、故下之於獄。

余招爾、爾弗聽、余舉手、爾弗答、爾棄我道、不受我教、故患難既臨、而爾畏懼、我將哂笑。爾所懼之災害、迫切之患難、突如其來、如颶風之倏至。斯時籲我、而我弗聽、竭力求恩、而不可得。爾素不志於學、不畏耶和華、不受我教、藐視我道、故必自取其戾、所謀不軌、反及其身。

狂妄之徒饕餮而姍笑、銜憾而切齒兮、

我列祖干天上上帝之怒、故上帝使迦勒底人、巴比倫王、尼布甲尼撒、擊之、毀斯殿、虜斯民、至巴比倫。

故必遇災、猝然敗亡、無人援手、

上帝兮、昔爾牧民、猶牧群羊、何為棄予如遺、加以震怒、氣如烟燄兮、

孰有先知而爾祖不窘逐者乎、昔爾祖殺預言義者將至之人、今義者至、爾即解而誅之、

希律及衛士、藐玩耶穌、衣以采服、復遣至彼拉多、

有戲之曰、此人酣酒耳、○

其將解與異邦人、戲玩、凌辱、唾之、

如拒此命、不第拒人、乃拒上帝、且上帝以厥聖神賜於我儕、

眾聞復生之言、有笑之者、或曰、我儕願再聞其說、

有人受欺侮、遭鞭扑、陷縲絏、困囹固、以歷試之、有石擊鋸解、

𠵽唎㘔之好利者、聞斯言、哂之、

其言曰、藐忽者乎、當爾之時、我將有所為、使爾見之、奇而駭絕、雖有人告爾、爾亦不信也、

爾曹勿復侮慢、恐爾之縲絏加嚴、我聞萬有之主耶和華、已定厥命、將殲滅斯境矣。

眾乃執耶利米、解於外獄、哈米勒子馬勒家室有井、以繩縋之下、井無水、惟有淤泥、耶利米遂淖於泥中。

當欣喜歡樂、以在天爾得賞者大也、蓋人窘逐先知、自昔然矣、○

耶利米禱曰、耶和華與、爾強我為先知、而我勉從、我迫於爾命、莫之能辭、今也人咸欺予、日藐視予。

兵卒亦戲之、與以醯、

上帝兮、異邦人侵爾畿輔、辱爾聖殿、毀耶路撒冷兮、臣僕之尸、飛鳥食之、敬虔者之肉、野獸噬之兮、耶路撒冷四周、血流若水、尸不瘞埋兮、鄰邦之士、凌辱我兮、四方之國、哂笑我兮。耶和華兮、爾震怒之予加、氣如烟燄、不識何時可息兮、

請復聽一譬、有家主樹葡萄園、以籬環之、中掘酒醡、建塔租與農夫、遂往異地、果期、遣僕、就農夫收果、農夫執其僕、扑一、殺一、石擊一、復遣他僕、較先尤眾、農夫待之如故、後遣其子、意謂必敬我子矣、農夫見其子、則私語曰、此其嗣子、且來殺之、業可據矣、遂執之、出諸園外、殺焉、園主至、將何以處此、曰、其必翦滅此惡人、租園與他農、可按時納果也、
