論埃及。關於埃及王法老尼哥的軍隊：這軍隊在伯拉河邊的迦基米施，是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒在猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬四年所擊敗的：『你們要把小盾大牌擺好，前進去上陣！要套上車，騎上馬！頂盔站在陣位上！磨槍貫甲！怎麼啦！我看見他們都驚慌，轉身退後呀！他們的勇士被擊敗了，倉倉皇皇逃跑，並不回頭呀！四圍盡是恐怖！永恆主發神諭說。輕快的也逃跑不了，英勇的也不能逃脫；就在北方伯拉河邊都絆跌仆倒。『這像尼羅河漲起、其水翻騰像江河的、是誰呢？埃及像尼羅河漲起，其水翻騰像江河；它說：我要漲起，淹沒這地，我要毁滅其居民。馬匹上去吧！車輛狂奔吧！勇士出陣哦！手揮盾牌的古實人和弗人哪！拉弓的路德族啊！那日是主萬軍之永恆主的日子，是伸冤的日子——向他的敵人伸的冤；他的刀劍必吞喫得飽，喝血喝得滿足；因為主萬軍之永恆主有宰祭的事，就在北方之地，伯拉河邊。埃及的子民哪，上基列去取止痛乳香吧！你雖多用良藥，總是徒然，新肉你總不長的。列國聽見你的聲音，你的哀號聲滿了遍地；因為勇士跌碰勇士，二者一齊仆倒。』
