The king stood by his pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord— to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, and to obey the words of the covenant written in this book.

The king stood next to his pillar. He agreed to the terms of the covenant in front of the Lord. The king promised to serve the Lord and obey his commands, directions and rules. He promised to obey them with all his heart and with all his soul. So the king promised to obey the terms of the covenant that were written in that book.

And the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.

The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the Lord’s presence. He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. He promised to obey all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll.

耶何耶大與眾民和王立約，要他們作耶和華的子民。

她看見王子按著規例站在柱旁那裡，首領和號手在王的旁邊，當地所有的人民歡樂吹號。亞他利雅於是撕裂衣服，呼叫：“反了！反了！”

他們也立約，要一心一意尋求耶和華他們列祖的神。

現在我心中有意要和耶和華以色列的神立約，好使他的震怒轉離我們。

原來所羅門做了一座銅臺，長兩公尺兩公寸，寬兩公尺兩公寸，高一公尺三公寸，安放在外院中。那時他站在銅臺上，在以色列全體會眾面前，屈膝下跪，向天張開雙手，

都堅持和他們的貴族兄弟參與發咒起誓，必遵行神藉他僕人摩西頒布的律法，必謹守遵行耶和華我們的主的一切誡命、典章和律例；

他們要詢問往錫安的路，又面向錫安，說：‘來吧！我們要以那永不可忘記的約與耶和華連合。’

但是現在耶穌得了更尊貴的職分，正好像他是更美的約的中保，這約是憑著更美的應許立的。如果頭一個約沒有缺點，就沒有尋求另一個約的必要了。可是神指責他們，說：“看哪，主說，日子要到了，我要與以色列家和猶大家訂立新約。這新約不像從前我拉他們祖先的手，領他們出埃及的日子與他們所立的約。因為他們沒有遵守我的約，我就不理會他們。這是主說的。主說：‘因為在那些日子以後，我要與以色列家所立的約是這樣：我要把我的律法放在他們的心思裡面，寫在他們的心上。我要作他們的神，他們要作我的子民。他們各人必不用教導自己的鄰居，和自己的同胞，說：你要認識主。因為所有的人，從最小到最大的，都必認識我。我也要寬恕他們的不義，決不再記著他們的罪惡。’”神既然說到新的約，就是把前約當作舊的了；那變成陳舊衰老的，就快要消逝了。

“今日你們全都站在耶和華你們的神面前；你們的首領、族長、長老、官長和以色列所有的男子，你們的小孩、妻子和在你營中的寄居者，以及為你們劈柴挑水的人，都站在耶和華你們的神面前，為要叫你遵守耶和華你的神今日與你所立的約，和他向你所起的誓；這樣，他今日可以立你作他的子民，他可以作你的神，正如他曾經對你說過的，又對你的列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起過誓的。“我不但與你們立這約，起這誓；而且也與那些今日和我們在這裡，一同站在耶和華我們的神面前的人，以及那些今日不與我們同在這裡的人立這約，起這誓。

在第七年，耶何耶大派人把迦利人和衛兵的眾百夫長帶來，領他們進入耶和華的殿中，和他們立約，使他們在耶和華的殿裡起誓，然後把王子帶出來和他們見面。

猶大眾人都為了所起的誓快樂，因為他們一心起誓，盡意尋求耶和華，耶和華就給他們尋見，並且使他們四境安寧。

我曾起誓，並且堅守誓言，我必遵守你公義的典章。

你要全心、全性、全力愛耶和華你的神。

我以你的法度為我永遠的產業；因為它們是我心中的喜樂。我專心遵行你的律例，永不改變，遵行到底。

君王要從外面經這門的門廊進入，站在門框旁邊。祭司們要為他預備燔祭和平安祭。他要在門檻那裡敬拜，然後出去。這門不可關閉，直到晚上。

他們遵照神人摩西的律法，按著定例，站在自己的崗位上。祭司從利未人手裡把血接過來，灑在祭壇上。

他回答：“你要全心、全性、全力、全意愛主你的神，並且要愛鄰舍如同自己。”耶穌說：“你答得對，你這樣行，就必得生命。”那人想證明自己有理，就對耶穌說：“誰是我的鄰舍呢？”

摩西取了一半的血，盛在盆中；又取了另一半的血，灑在祭壇上。他又把約書拿過來，念給人民聽；他們說：“耶和華吩咐的一切話，我們都必遵行和聽從。”摩西就取了血來，灑在人民的身上，說：“看哪，這是立約的血，這約是耶和華按著這一切話與你們立的。”

他經辦的一切事，無論是關於神殿的事奉，或是關於律法和誡命的遵行，他都尋求他的神。因為他盡心去行，所以盡都順利。

那一天，約書亞就與眾民立約，在示劍為他們訂立律例和典章。

現在由於這一切事，我們立下確實的約，寫在文件上；我們的領袖、利未人和祭司，都在上面蓋了印。”（本節在《馬索拉文本》為10:1）

這些是耶和華在摩押地，吩咐摩西與以色列人所立的約的話，是耶和華和他們在何烈山所立的約以外的。（本節在《馬索拉文本》為28:69）
