The king stood by his pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord— to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, and to obey the words of the covenant written in this book.

The king stood next to his pillar. He agreed to the terms of the covenant in front of the Lord. The king promised to serve the Lord and obey his commands, directions and rules. He promised to obey them with all his heart and with all his soul. So the king promised to obey the terms of the covenant that were written in that book.

And the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.

耶何耶大与众民和王立约，要他们作耶和华的子民。

她看见王子按着规例站在柱旁那里，首领和号手在王的旁边，当地所有的人民欢乐吹号。亚他利雅于是撕裂衣服，呼叫：“反了！反了！”

他们也立约，要一心一意寻求耶和华他们列祖的神。

王站在柱旁，在耶和华面前立约，要一心一意跟从耶和华，谨守他的诫命、典章和律例，实行这书上所写有关这约的话。众民都一同立约。

现在我心中有意要和耶和华以色列的神立约，好使他的震怒转离我们。

原来所罗门做了一座铜台，长两公尺两公寸，宽两公尺两公寸，高一公尺三公寸，安放在外院中。那时他站在铜台上，在以色列全体会众面前，屈膝下跪，向天张开双手，

都坚持和他们的贵族兄弟参与发咒起誓，必遵行神藉他仆人摩西颁布的律法，必谨守遵行耶和华我们的主的一切诫命、典章和律例；

他们要询问往锡安的路，又面向锡安，说：‘来吧！我们要以那永不可忘记的约与耶和华连合。’

但是现在耶稣得了更尊贵的职分，正好像他是更美的约的中保，这约是凭着更美的应许立的。如果头一个约没有缺点，就没有寻求另一个约的必要了。可是神指责他们，说：“看哪，主说，日子要到了，我要与以色列家和犹大家订立新约。这新约不像从前我拉他们祖先的手，领他们出埃及的日子与他们所立的约。因为他们没有遵守我的约，我就不理会他们。这是主说的。主说：‘因为在那些日子以后，我要与以色列家所立的约是这样：我要把我的律法放在他们的心思里面，写在他们的心上。我要作他们的神，他们要作我的子民。他们各人必不用教导自己的邻居，和自己的同胞，说：你要认识主。因为所有的人，从最小到最大的，都必认识我。我也要宽恕他们的不义，决不再记着他们的罪恶。’”神既然说到新的约，就是把前约当作旧的了；那变成陈旧衰老的，就快要消逝了。

“今日你们全都站在耶和华你们的神面前；你们的首领、族长、长老、官长和以色列所有的男子，你们的小孩、妻子和在你营中的寄居者，以及为你们劈柴挑水的人，都站在耶和华你们的神面前，为要叫你遵守耶和华你的神今日与你所立的约，和他向你所起的誓；这样，他今日可以立你作他的子民，他可以作你的神，正如他曾经对你说过的，又对你的列祖亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起过誓的。“我不但与你们立这约，起这誓；而且也与那些今日和我们在这里，一同站在耶和华我们的神面前的人，以及那些今日不与我们同在这里的人立这约，起这誓。

在第七年，耶何耶大派人把迦利人和卫兵的众百夫长带来，领他们进入耶和华的殿中，和他们立约，使他们在耶和华的殿里起誓，然后把王子带出来和他们见面。

犹大众人都为了所起的誓快乐，因为他们一心起誓，尽意寻求耶和华，耶和华就给他们寻见，并且使他们四境安宁。

我曾起誓，并且坚守誓言，我必遵守你公义的典章。

你要全心、全性、全力爱耶和华你的神。

我以你的法度为我永远的产业；因为它们是我心中的喜乐。我专心遵行你的律例，永不改变，遵行到底。

君王要从外面经这门的门廊进入，站在门框旁边。祭司们要为他预备燔祭和平安祭。他要在门槛那里敬拜，然后出去。这门不可关闭，直到晚上。

他们遵照神人摩西的律法，按着定例，站在自己的岗位上。祭司从利未人手里把血接过来，洒在祭坛上。

他回答：“你要全心、全性、全力、全意爱主你的神，并且要爱邻舍如同自己。”耶稣说：“你答得对，你这样行，就必得生命。”那人想证明自己有理，就对耶稣说：“谁是我的邻舍呢？”

摩西取了一半的血，盛在盆中；又取了另一半的血，洒在祭坛上。他又把约书拿过来，念给人民听；他们说：“耶和华吩咐的一切话，我们都必遵行和听从。”摩西就取了血来，洒在人民的身上，说：“看哪，这是立约的血，这约是耶和华按着这一切话与你们立的。”

他经办的一切事，无论是关于神殿的事奉，或是关于律法和诫命的遵行，他都寻求他的神。因为他尽心去行，所以尽都顺利。

那一天，约书亚就与众民立约，在示剑为他们订立律例和典章。

现在由于这一切事，我们立下确实的约，写在文件上；我们的领袖、利未人和祭司，都在上面盖了印。”（本节在《马索拉文本》为10:1）

这些是耶和华在摩押地，吩咐摩西与以色列人所立的约的话，是耶和华和他们在何烈山所立的约以外的。（本节在《马索拉文本》为28:69）
