永恆主對我說：『就使有摩西和撒母耳站在我面前來代求，我的心也不向着這人民。從我面前給打發走，叫他們出去！

『亞哈在我面前怎樣自己謙卑、你看見了麼？因為他在我面前自己謙卑，所以他在世的日子我不降這災禍；乃是到他兒子的日子我才要降這災禍於他的家。』

希西家對以賽亞說：『你所說永恆主的話很好啊。』他心裏說：『至少在我活着的日子有太平穩固的景況就好啦。』

你細察純全人，觀看正直人，看寧靜人怎樣有後代。

所以你看吧，我必將你收殮歸你列祖；使你安安然然被收殮歸入墳墓。我所要降於這地方的一切災禍、你也不至於親眼看到。」』聽完了之後，他們就將這話回覆了王。
