馬拿西乃協西巴所出、年十有二即位、於耶路撒冷、凡歷五十五年。昔異邦人行可惡之事、耶和華逐之於以色列族中、馬拿西效其尤、作惡於耶和華前。其父希西家廢諸崇坵、馬拿西復建之、築祭壇、宗巴力、作偶像、從以色列王亞哈所為、崇拜天象、而服事焉。昔耶和華曰、耶路撒冷必為籲我名之所、馬拿西築壇於其殿之二院、崇拜天象、

木工用準繩、循規矩、運其利器、作人之形、窮極華美、置之於室、伐柏香木以及橡櫟、此皆木之堅者、亦植杉樹、得雨露之養、人取為柴、燃之可以暖體、可以烘餅、復作上帝像、俯伏而拜。材木之半、焚之可以備餚、可以炙肉、食之果腹、向火得暖、人樂以觀火。更有餘木、以製偶像、以像上帝、俯伏而拜、禱曰、誠我上帝、爾其救予、維彼不識不知、其目若塗以泥、其心不明、孰能深思其故、奮然儆醒曰、材木之半、焚之可以烘餅炙肉、而供口腹、則其餘材、豈可作像、拜此可憎之榾柮。彼心昏迷、所望成空、若食燼餘而不悟、不知右手所作、悉屬虛妄。

馬拿西年十有二即位、都耶路撒冷、凡五十五年。昔異邦人行可惡之事、耶和華使以色列族逐之、馬拿西行惡於耶和華前、而效其尤。厥父希西家曾毀崇坵、馬拿西築之、且築祭壇、立偶像、服事巴力、崇拜天象、昔耶和華曰、耶路撒冷必為籲我名之所、永世勿替、而馬拿西在耶和華殿之二院築壇、奉事天象。

八年王尚幼沖、崇事其祖大闢之上帝、十二年在猶大國耶路撒冷邑、廢諸崇坵、伐諸林木、毀諸偶像、王使人毀巴力壇、日像高懸於側、王斫之、伐林木、擣偶像成粉、揚於祭偶者之塚。
