這希西家也塞住基訓的上源，引水直下，流在大衛城的西邊。希西家所行的事盡都亨通。

希西家王第四年，也就是以拉的兒子以色列王何細亞第七年，亞述王撒縵以色上來圍困撒瑪利亞。

他們起來，把耶路撒冷的祭壇和燒香的壇盡都除去，扔在汲淪溪中。

耶和華啊，亞述諸王果然使列國和列國之地變為荒蕪，

他說：「我的官長豈不都是君王嗎？

在這些虔誠的事以後，亞述王西拿基立來侵犯猶大，圍困堅固城，想要攻破它們。

希西家其餘的事和他一切英勇的事蹟，他怎樣造池、挖溝、引水入城，不都寫在《猶大列王記》上嗎？

所以求你賜僕人善於了解的心，可以判斷你的百姓，辨別是非。不然，誰能判斷你這麼多的百姓呢？」

希西家王十四年，亞述王西拿基立上來攻擊猶大的一切堅固的城，將城攻取。

以利沙離開他回去，宰了一對牛，用套牛的器具煮肉給百姓吃，隨後就起身跟隨以利亞，服事他。

那時，有兩個妓女來，站在王面前。一個婦人說：「我主啊，我和這婦人同住一屋。她在屋子裏的時候，我生了一個孩子。
