希西家王在位第四年，就是以色列王以拉的儿子何细亚在位第七年，亚述王撒缦以色上来攻击撒玛利亚，把城围困；

他们起来，把耶路撒冷城中的祭坛和一切香坛，尽都除去，抛在汲沦溪中。

耶和华啊！亚述列王真的曾毁坏列国和它们的领土，

因为他说：“在我手下的众领袖不都是王吗？

在希西家行了这些忠诚的事以后，亚述王西拿基立入侵犹大，围困犹大的设防城，企图攻陷占领。

希西家其余的事迹和他所有的英勇事迹，以及他做水池和引水道，把水引入城里的事，不是都写在犹大列王的年代志上吗？

所以，求你赐给仆人一颗明辨的心，可以判断你的子民，能辨别是非，因为谁能判断你这众多的子民呢？”

希西家王在位第十四年，亚述王西拿基立上来攻击犹大所有的设防城，占据了它们。

以利沙就离开他回去了。他牵了一对牛来宰了，用套牛的器具把牛煮熟，就分给众人，他们都吃了。然后以利沙就起来，跟随以利亚，服事他。

有一天，有两个作妓女的妇人来见王，站在他面前。其中一个妇人说：“我主啊，我和这妇人同住；她与我在房子里的时候，我生了一个孩子。
